wasn't too sure this was on today,so took a chance as I was only a few miles from Astley Green Colliery. Turns out that there were a few Velos there and other bikes. Had a mooch round and I would recommend a visit if you have never been before this huge beast was in a shed at the back of the grounds, Eccles built Gardner engine and to top it off, I got 2nd prize for non-Velo bike(didn't even know there was any) nice Birthday pressie

I decided to take today off as the forecast looked very promising, if a bit colder than of late. Along M65 to J13 and then A682 to Long Preston, A65 to Kirkby Lonsdale (plenty of bikes parked by the brew wagon in the car park next to the bridge) then along the A683 to Sedbergh where I stopped for lunch in glorious sunshine. A684 to Hawes and cut back along the B6255 to Ribblehead where I got some nice shots of the bike with the Ribblehead Viaduct in the background. Back to Settle via Horton in Ribblesdale and retraced my steps home via the A65/A682/M65. Home for tea and the discovery that my phone with all todays pictures is on the road somewhere between Ribblehead and ho…

I hope to be there. It's also the day after Ginger's Egg Run, that Drewpy posted about, so could be a bike filled weekend.

Just seen that over the next few months there will be an MT Tour. Looks like there may be an opportunity to ride (did not read all, but said for 'new riders' seems unfair!), some places also have stunt show and wheelie guide for MT10/07 (haha) I know some of you are fairly regular at Squires and they are there next weekend. INFO The 2016 Dark Side MT Tour will visit the following venues: 14-15 May: MCN Festival, Peterborough 18-19 June: Squires Café, Leeds 25-26 June: Rykas Café, Box Hill 2-3 July: Saddle Inn, Preston 9-10 July: Llandow Circuit, South Wales 16 July: Bikesafe, Rockingham 19-27 Nov: Motorcycle Live,…

Had a craking night tonight. Got out of work early and already went to work on the TDM, so moseied off to Winfields in Haslingden for a coffee and cake and an ogle at the bikes in the Cafe. foggies bike It was only 5:30 so I detored to Pendle and stopped to admire the view near the dry ski slope got to Great Harwood by trial and error. Met a load of bikers some came from Morcambe and some from round the corner. The organiser set up pie, peas, gravy and a brew for £2.50, result. It stated raining so we piled into the pub. On the way in a drunk granny said she liked bikers and started to give me a kiss,…

tanked up the TDM yesterday and went for a fast ride up to Devils bridge in the lakes. I didn't hang around and that lovely torque had me passed a longer line of cars than I though possible, nudging 110 in some parts. One thing with all this behaviour, it tests the suspension on the twisties and sups fuel. I usually get 210 miles to a full tank, well yesterday I got 180. whats the big deal? I now know which position the reserve tap points to as I ran out at Rivvington on the Bolton road. Bollocks! Phoned the missus to bring me some fuel, and she said after I've finished work ( another hour) so i waited and waited, 4 hours later she turns up…
