To your area John, 206 miles round trip to Kennoway to pick up a set of £6 fork seals for my auld bike.....Turns out once I'm there I "remembered" I needed other stuff haha. Not long back and the weather stayed dry both ways so a good day out. Nearly cost me a fortune tho' as I stopped off at Triumph Glasgow looking for a cam cover gasket and nearly walked out with a Thruxton. Lucky the parts man arrived back before the salesman got his hooks into me. The same thing almost happened before only this time the wife wasn't there to save me. Luckily the sensible head was on

Really enjoying this on TV what he lacks in ability he makes up for in pure grit, you gotta give the guy credit for taking this on and sticking with it (so far) every inch of him must be in pain and by day three don't think I would want to go on. Brilliant TV hope he makes it to the finish.

Just thought you might like to share in a moment from my history? I was watching a film about Ramree island in Burma during the second world war, my dad was there with the royal air force as a radio operator for the air force while they took the island and eventually Burma back from the Japanese, he saw CHANGI where the Japanese had held prisoners of war during the final years of the war and has no sympathy for the Japanese at all. Anyway the TV program was about the mass killing of Japanese soldiers by crocodiles as they tried to escape from the allied forces and get back to their home. Was not really expecting to see anything of real interest but just to get an ove…

I was recently "given" a 1983 Virago XV500K. I figured I'd ride it for a year and then move up. Unfortunately after only 2 weeks, tthe bike won't start. Now, I'm a complete novice at bike repairs - I have the manual and a meter (digital), but every time I think I might have it solved, I hit the start button and all I hear is a "click" from the right side. The battery is new, I installed and tested a new fuse block and no luck. I've seen info about the side stand cut off and how some people have disconnected it so they could at least ride. I don't know how to do this, but I'd be willing to try. Any help - any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Reg Virago

Just a quick story of something that frightened the life out of me, I'm on my way home from visiting my Mum down in Portsmouth, and I'm just passing Swindon going down Blunsden hill, it's very steep and if you hit the top at 70+ your doing 90 at the bottom without moving the throttle, I love this hill..! Anyway I have just passed everything in front of me and pulled over to the left when this bike, it was green and black and that's all I know about it and bloody loud to, passes me on the outside, I'm doing 90 and he passed me at well over 140..! Nothing wrong with that I think and must admit had a bit of a grin on my face till I saw a kid about 10 years old on the back ..…

As most of us are now aware, it is becoming more and more difficult to post pictures. Photobucket and tiny pics are not playing any more (unless you sign up to their payment scheme). I found this on other forums as well. After much wailing and gnashing of teeth it was suggested that postimg.org was the way to go. I tried this on two other forums/messageboards and it seems to work well, so I thought I would suggest it for here. Go to Postimg.org Sign up with email click on upload (set the size of picture required, I chose 800 x 600 15" monitor Once in copy the link for 'hotlink for foums' If you remove the letter 's' from the two https codes, you'…

Hi everybody I've recently fitted a full dep pipe on my DTRE 125 2006 model run up to snake pass at weekend to test with a new spark plug in to see condition of plug bike ran ok but I noticed quite a lot of oil coming from tail pipe and splashing my rear fender and number plate .? I haven't re jetted carburetor yet as I was told to run nine first to see condition of plug . Plug looks fine and bike ran reasonably well does anybody know what the oil could be and is this because it's haven't re jetted carburetor.? Any advice would be appreciated . Thanks Karl

I rang up to get some tyres last Monday, like 5 working days ago in this fair land of ours. A place where you can get something from Motherwell to Margate in less than a day. Amazon can deliver in hours. My whinge, the Michelin Power 2ct tyres I rang up to order to be ready today, nobody decided to ring and tell me the rear tyre is on back order from Michelin, its so popular they apparently can't make em fast enough (yeah right). Its going to be a week Monday and could be longer before I can get tyres on my prilla wheels. You would think someone would have phoned me. Apparently they are going to request it directly from Michelin by way of sorry so I could have …

Hey peeps. As those of you following my Facebook profile may have already seen, I've dragged another decrepit contraption out from behind the block. The chappy is going over to my storage unit for a few years, I'm slowly emptying my garage on base in preparation for the big move. One of my more forgotten projects is 'Junk-Junk'... The name says it all, two bits of junk bodies together. The bike came from ebay, some guy dragged it out of his garden and I bought it unseen, it's covered in rust but the wheels are fairly round so it works fine, cut up some straps to make handlebar grips. The engine came from an autojumble, and is in similar condit…
