Anyone using Continental Tyres may want to read this: http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-news--general-news/continental-recalls-170000-tyres/25409.html Quote from above: "The recall, which Continental is coining the voluntary tyre exchange program, covers 170,000 tyres worldwide in sizes 120/70 ZR 17 and 120/70 R 17. The faulty rubber was sold for both OEM and replacement use between 2007 and 2014 - any tyres with DOT serial numbers between 1907 and 2614 are covered under the program."

The continuous insurance enforcement scheme will provide a new fixed penalty for people who ignore official reminders that their insurance has expired. This will apply to vehicles that are not declared as being off the road through SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification) and not insured. Continuing offenders will risk having their vehicle seized and destroyed. Where a motor vehicle isn't used on a road or other public place, there’s no requirement to purchase insurance cover for 'on road risk' as long as a SORN declaration has been made. The continuous insurance enforcement scheme is expected to come into force during 2011. more information http://www.direct.gov.uk/e…

UK members. Please be reminded that continuous insurance will be enforced from next Monday 20th June. If you have a project, and before you rush out and SORN the bike, please be aware that if the bike has been not taxed nor SORN'ed since 31 January 1998 it does not need to be SORN'ed until you either tax or SORN it. Not sure? Check here LINKY Thank you.

I have a 2009 WR450F and looking at lighting kits. There are two I can find, the Dakar and the Baja Designs. Do you know of others and if not which of these two truly make the bike more real world street worthy?

just fitted my new CooCase Wizard to the little YBR http://www.ghostbikes.com/products/luggage-top-cases-and-side-cases/4802-coocase-v36-wizard-luxury-topcase-36l-(v36-ll).html]LINKY has anyone else ever fitted a powered top case? i found the electrical stuff to be far too fiddly to do without any instructions at all (except a bit in the manual that explains what each colour wire is... nothing about where the "brake" wire goes) anyways, i managed to get the baseplate on without a problem (had to enlist my brother though... 2 hands aren't enough), then got to work running the cables under the seat space to the battery... only to find that the positive wire is too…

Hi guys, Does anyone know the specific alloy that the coolant inlet cover off the Yamaha R6 is? (It's this one being sold on ebay: http://tinyurl.com/qzxdenu By the looks of it, it has been high pressure die cast but I can't find the specific material anywhere. I want to know because I'm trying to find out whether you can weld Al 6063 directly on to this. Any help will be kindly appreciated! Thanks

no not new bikes, just keeping the existing (old) one running, had a load of repairs done a few months ago and now i have started using my 25 yr old machine more again with the weather improving somewhat, well temperatures anyway, and straight away i'm into a replacement silencer and replacement brake switch plus another service will be required soon. Also got our boy's bike to sort/pay for as he is still a student, not that i mind particularly, his (old) bike has a gear selection issue (actually I will just be glad if it is fixable), an oil cooler leak and one of the heated grips gone awol - dear oh dear. i don't recall my old toyota costing…

Well, little shocked tbh. Long storey short, last week discovered that the mk4 Mondeo actually has a hybrid camchain/cambelt thing going on. I thought it was chain like the mk3. Thing is its supposed to be changed well before 125000 or 5 years. The punch? mine is 150+ and 10 years old. Woah. So the tank got parked till i can do the timing belt which will be Saturday and i figured I'd just use the bike full time for a fortnight. Was a bit nippy a couple of times, and very wet on a couple of others but I'm riding the bike, yay. Even though i do need to be up 15min earlier to have time to unlock the garage/bike etc and put all the crap on. The bit i did…

Hi All. Thought I'd start a topic about somethin that popped up in another discussion. How do you think modern Moto GP / WSB riders would fare when introduced to the challenge of Road Racing? Think Stoner could tackle the TT without sh*tting himself??? Would he even get to the top of the mountain??? No-one can deny the skill and achievements of people like Rossi, but heroes of old like Agostini also had success on the roads. My dad still talks about guys of that era racing at the UGP. Obviously i'm well aware the teams would never allow their superstars to 'risk' riding at the road events, but thought we'd enjoy debating anyway. Good to see peopl…
