After spending all of last night rebuilding it, and all of this morning bolting everything else back on I filled it with some cheap 10w40 and fired it up. Now it's making a taping noise, think of the sound a valve makes when it's out of adjustment. It's like that sound, coming from the cylinder/bottom end, and it makes it only on the power stroke. I don't have the slightest idea, anyone else have a clue?

i know that i am not a perfect rider or motorist,. however y/day that is sunday, did about 200 miles, met a friend with the same bike great day except... coming and going to our meeting point i had several car drivers push out in front it was like they saw me but came out anyway, in each case i had to slow in order to build up a decently safe distance i don't think i was speeding or going any faster than anybody else what is going on? i can't work it out, mostly elderly men with family in the car but one younger bloke who, judging by his later dithery driving, was lost. the only thing that i can think of to stop…

Hi guys, I was on my way to work the other day - bike was running the best she's ever ran and 5 mins later she was losing a bit of power, then engine started sounding rough and next conked out making the most horrible noise ever from the engine. Engine was extremely overheated, kickstart is stuck at top and electric start won't turn over. Anyone any ideas all the best n happy riding, Louis

I've just come across a company called "Zeeltronic" that specialises in programmable CDI units for Yamaha's. http://www.zeeltronic.com/page/home.php Has anybody tried one of these as they are quite expensive so just wondering are they worth the money?

Mark Talbot (TarkMalbot) raced with Coyote Racing in the first two rounds of the KRC Endurance Championship. As the youngest rider (ever, I think), he did an amazing job on the Yamaha R1 and helped bring the the highest results we've ever had. Unfortunately, Mark was unable to do the last 2 due to finance and as we speak he cannot finish the season at Donington for the same reason. Coyote Racing would love to have Mark do the last race of the season with us as he started the season with us and we have missed having him. It will also be nice to end the season with a full Adopt a Racer team again. You can find out more about Coyote Racing at http://www.coyote-raci…

A buddy came back from hell today and I saw some pictures today of what's going on in Sri Lanka. The news reports don't do it justice. She is a relife worker for Christian Aid - wasn't supposed to go out until Feb 4th but due to the current crisis, went a day after the Tsunami happened. I almost went but I didn't realise you have to pay to go as an aid worker - a month in hell would cost £1100 so I had to decline. I'm told that it is so horrible that the only way to get through it is to try to mentally detach yourself from it all otherwise you'd go mad. She says that everything seems to conspire against you - even setting up a pyre to burn some rotting corpses…

I don't bloody well believe it! It seems I was right, it is catching...............yep, I got a large dose of the forum virus and went out and bought a H*%da!! I can have no excuse, it MUST be the virus Ok, ok, time to own up. I actually bought it through choice, no, more than that, I've wanted one for ages! It's a cruise missile cunningly disguised as a Super Blackbird CBR1100XX, I'm picking it up on Friday and I can't wait!
