Hi guys, This is actually the first time ever my bike has refused to start! So I stick choke on, start her up, she'll tick over fine for about 3-4 seconds then suddenly cut out.. Last night I was going to do a valve clearance adjustment - took all the timing caps etc off then realized my feeler gauge is all rusted and I can't see the numbers so I stuck all the caps back on and left her. Do you think this could in some way be related to my problem? All help grately appreciated. Happy riding, Louis

Was taken from outside of my house on the night of 27th (Feb 09) or morning of the 28th. It's red, the clutch lever was half snapped off (was about to fit a replacement), has a metal thing on the back for top boxes (and my Givi plastic plate attached).. the plastic around the headlight is slightly cracked due to coming off of it a month or so ago. Registration S544 RNT - it's datatagged too. This sucks.

hi everyone. would quite like to build a motorcylce trailer so i can transport my DT around without having to call my dad over to pick it up in the van or for when i next breakdown miles from anywere. my dad recently built himself a double-axles trailer using a trailer tent chassis and wheels, box section and checker plate, are there any plans/drawings available for fabricating a single or maybe even double motorcycle trailer? regards Steve

Hi I have recently bought a Yamaha r6 2003 plate. When I got it home after a couple of days the bike wouldn't start. It was like the battery had gone. I replaced the battery and it was working fine. I then gave the bike a wash and went to start it and it was just clicking. I know it's a new battery but any idea what else it could be? Thanks mario

Rant Rant Moan Moan! Probably should post this in workshop, but I need a moan too. On the way to work today, thinking "hmm, that engine sounds a little off...", stopped at a junction... and the engine stalled. Tried to start it back up; it'd catch then instantly die again. Discovered that if I gave it some initial revs it'd keep running. If I slowly rolled off the throttle, it'd keep running. If I blipped it, or quickly rolled off, it'd instantly stall. Now, I think it was fine in getting off, because the engine temp was only ~50C and the EFI was still giving it a bit more welly. Once it warmed up, it was back to normal, and the basically …

hi all hoping some one can help, i have a 1999 yamaha 600 diversion which wont start , originaly thought it was the starter solinoid as i wasnt getting any clicking noise when id push the starter button replaced the soliniod still nothing so i replaced the right hand cluster switch controls still nothing then i replaced the starter brushes an she still wont start have been around bikes for a while so i pretty use to sorting problems when they arise, but this has me stumped, so to recap iv replaced the push button starter cluster the starter solinid an no clicking fromthe the new sloinid replaced the starter brushes the battery is new an fully charged when i put the key…

.....cos I've had to say goodbye to an old friend! The mighty XT is now on it's final journey back to Wales. For the first time in my life (and that's 54 bikes in the last 36 years)....I'm genuinely sorry to see a bike go. I've never owned a bike for the length of time I've had the XT, and it's never missed a beat here, or in the UK. But the bureaucracy surrounding importing foreign vehicles into Spain makes it very difficult to register it here. I've had to ride it illegally for the last year, and now the Guardia Civil is cracking down on Brit plate vehicles, I have no other option than to ship it back.
