Ok so some of you guys know that I own a xs400 and I bought new tires for it. I was trying to find the lowest price and shopped around. Certain places asked 30 for each tire balance and mounting and installing bearings bushings etc in the wheel would cost me 60 per tire and plus the rear bearings would cost me 190 not including tax. Berts megmall beat that by 10 dollars. Now I sent the wheels at 01/07/2010 since I have seen my wheels and its going to cost me 210 dollar total because the front took them a lot "more time than expected" which amounted of 90 dollars. Now it is 01/23/10 and its still in the shop! They also found that the front bearing dust seal I gave them was…

I have 03-05 r6. I'm looking to get a 2nd hand carbon fibre akrapovic exhaust, as I've read in a few places theyre the best one to buy? Am I making the right choice? How do Scorpion and arrow compare in sound? Which would you recommend?

Hi All, Would not normally ask this but just wondering if anyone might know what a good price for a Yamaha RD350B might be? I only ask as I am selling one for my neighbour who has had it in his garage for the last 20 odd years, so as you can imagine it is more than a little dusty rusty and generally in poor condition, all the parts are there and it has a V5 from 1975 so a genuine candidate for a resto, but I have put it on to ebay and am snowed under with OFFERS! even tho I said no offers in the advert, bloody pointless putting it in there really! Still just curious what it might be worth as I am not now a stroker fiddler, used to be but like something slightly less manic…

I was tinkering with my bike today (for the first time ever), and I managed to fix a problem (air filter and box getting filled with oil when the engine is hot, then dumping it all over the road when I stop). I went out for a 60mile round trip, and ... no leak, no smoke..........BLISS That feeling of having managed to fix a problem on your own (with the help of the YOG forum) was f***ing amazing! Considering I'm a complete newbie when it comes to bike mechanics, I was chuffed, almost as much as passing my test with only 1 minor after being certain I'd failed it at the first roundabout! Anyone got other bike-related moments of bliss?

When i say this i no i speek for a lot of people i know with bikes the route we take from Thorne (doncaster) to whitby is just amazing via helmsley stokesley hutton le hole and sands end! all in all its about a 210 mile ride and we do it regular. the best part of this ride is the part all the locals call the helmsley TT and let me tell you when you ride it you'l love it. also when you get to a place called chop gate about 200meters after the sign there is a pub and just after that a real sharp left turn take that and folow the road ( tarmaced but ride slow as really thin road) for bout 2 - 3 mile and you will end up at a place called lord stones. its a cafe ( where bik…

Hey everybody, I have been gifted an xj900f to go along side my xj6n by my other half's dad however there is a slight snag! Now here is the awkward part for me, he has not ridden the bike for the best part of 9 years which does not phase me but he has no recollection of where the v5 is & if he ever declared it worn due to a health issue, the bike is in good condition and to me it would be nice to get it back to full health & I can learn a trick or two along the way. Does anybody know how I can get a log book without landing him in it for it not being sorn or without a massive cost? Thanks for any advice as I don't know where to start. Shaun

  15. Hi all I've had a car driving license for 30 years and, after having purchased an XVS125, I'm after getting the bike one. Considering my two-wheels experience consists of riding mopeds when I was a teenager (I'm 48) and, once in a while, 50cc scooters since, what in your opinion is the best way to go about it? 1) CBT, getting some road experience, taking a few lessons at a later date then going for the DAS. 2) Getting a 4/5 days training package that includes CBT+DAS (+ test booking etc...). Thanks in advance

ive installed a new topbox with intergrated brake lights, and the wire powering these is left bare in the kit, so i chopped the existing line, and chock-blocked the three bare wires together. a few days ago, i found that my brake lights weren't working at all, so i investigated and found that i'd gone over a bump too fast and one side of the chock block had lost its wires, not hard to fix, but i had no idea how long i had no brake lights for does anyone know a better way to secure the wires so that i don't have to worry about the speed humps on the way to work? thanks

okay after much wailing and gnashing of teeth, i finallly got on board... have owned an 81 XJ Maxim 550 since 1992, bought 4th hand in oklahoma. i was in the Air Force at the time. it got put away in 1995 and left in the back of the garage until last summer. i had the carbs rebuilt and spent about 40 hours cleaning, de-greasing, waxing and polishing every little bit on that bike. it started right up after the carbs went on but i had tuning issues. then it wouldnt start at all. its currently up and running like a new bike but im waiting on some fork seals. its currently got a tick less than 12,000 miles (19,200kM for you metric folk)... 2 weeks ago i picked up…

Well I'm gutted, was just out in the shed doing some bits and bobs and generally tidying up when I bumped into betty and she went down, catching my thigh on the way. Thankfully nothing is broken bar one of my piss poor weldings on the exhaust and the floor as the foot peg buried its self into it. Here's a fresh pic of my leg it's about 8-9 inches if you wanna know bippo and sash, and the cut is about 7 inches. Gunna have a very nice bruise in the coming days.

Well folks that day finally came and betty has been sold. Had a final ride with her this morning for a few hours and i know she is just a bike but my god was it emotional! The guy who now owns her even said that he felt sorry for me as he could see how much i loved her. Hey ho, deposit is paid on the new bike which will be here on friday or Thursday so watch out for the new project thread coming up......its gunna be good!!!!!
