My eldest who has never been on a bike in his life has found a 2008 YBR 125 in a barn in Somerset, turns out he used to share a house with the original owner who bought in new but only rode it twice as after a low speed tumble he never rode it again, eventually it was given to his sister who took it with her when she moved back to run the family farm in somerset, now believe it or not this bike has only 156 miles on the clock, it appears to be in fairly good nick with a few scratches from the tumble back in 2008 and some surface rust on some of the shinny bits, it seems to run ok and has a MOT. I know that when he gets it I will be spending some time giving it a health ch…

Hi all, many moons ago i cut my teeth on an 88 genisis thou, it has always had a special place in my bike memories, and last week the gods of two wheels saw fit to put a 1990 fzr 1000 in my path for the sum of 300 sheets. I kind of knew we were destined to spend a long time in the shed together from the phone call, but she's now in my van,in more pieces than i can count along with a new akropovic race can as the pipes are more than a little shagged. I work away from home most of the time so this is going to be a long rebuild it's gonna need a lot of time and lovin to get this bike back to the brute it once was but i'm meticulous and determined and can't wait to start.the …

HI I went to start my xj600 this morning after being away for a month. Absolutely no juice from the battery. I put it on charge and very quickly the charger read full. I replaced it back in the bike but it was still dead. I then decided t jump start it from the car and it started fine, I eventually disconnected the jump leads. I left the bike running for another 30 mins then switched it off. Went to start it again and the battery was dead again. I know this is probably a stupid question but have I got a dead battery? or could it be something else?

Had some trouble tonight with the bike, came to start it after the weekend, battery was flat! Completely dead, not even dim lights on the dash. So bumped it, and took my charger to work, plugged in charger on but not charging. Thinking it's knackered, maybe from being left in the sun all weekend? Only thing I can think of. Any thoughts?

Electrics are not my thing, I have a 2stroke moped i'm going to be working on and the battery drains after a few days, new battery, it charges fine from the mains, its ridden every day so should get a decent charge, all the lights work fine when running its just not topping up the battery? I have a multimeter, what things should I be checking for when I get it? obviously output from stator and checking the voltage at the battery when running but apart from that my knowledge is limited, I would have thought if the lights work then surely the power has to go thru the battery first? therefor it should be charging?

Hello folks, I've had my 1300 midnight star for a year now, battery went flat over the winter, charging didn't help so I bought another one from e bay, that went flat too!!! I have not used the bike so charging is not an issue and there's no parasitic drop, any ideas please? Can I turn off the immobiliser/alarm (flashing red light on speedo head). Thanks, Andy

Dug the red 400D out of the shed this week, replaced manky 110/90/18 metzler and 90/90/18 pirelli phantom with a pair of old stock Battlax BT35,s 110/80/18 and 90/90/18. put some fuel in and took it for a first spin of the year, tyres have transformed what felt like a lumbering oil tanker compared to the 250 on K82,s into a much nimbler bike. cannot thrash it too hard as it only has 160 miles on clock since crank rebuild, but when i opened it up abit it kept dying, ok poodling along but get over 5000 revs for any length of time and down it went, nursed it home, could hear a hissing coming from filler cap, remove cap clear crap from vent, another test ride and well its pr…

Did anyone have the misfortune of seeing the 6 o'clock news...there was an article on there about biking summer fatalities, JEEZ..lets just say that we are the scum of Britain and that we should be all shot, i've never seen so much 1 sided journalism in my life . Nice one to the geeza from Sussex when asked what could be done about biker deaths on the road, he replied teach the car drivers how to drive...or something to that affect.
