looks good at first sight 3 cylinder bike apparently - described as a lightweight 850cc, wide handlebars, inverted forks blurb:- Compact and lightweight 850cc 3-cylinder engine To keep the MT-09 as light, slim and compact as possible, our designers have developed an all-new CF aluminium die-cast frame. Its low weight and excellent rigidity balance contribute towards the bike's agile handling performance, and help to keep the overall wet weight down to just 188kg. Mr Neat & Mr Tidy ..... I used to love those Mr Men characters (in fact, I still do) but I digress...... Just wondered what wee products and tips you all swear by when it comes to cleaning your bikes (I realise from enjoying manys a post on this site that 'clean' and 'my bike' will just sound like blasphemy to some of you ). I have to admit I do enjoy cleaning my bike at the weekend (time permitting) but I was wondering today whether I'm missing out on any effective (energy saving) tricks of the trade?? And no - sending SWMBO out with a cloth isn't an option!

Forgive me if a rant or a bit boring but some of you can relate to this Had my first crash today on black ice. Traveling down a country road, approached sharp right hander, no indication of ice as it was sunny and warming up. As I started the bend i was instantly planted on the floor making a physical check of the tarmac listening to the slide of the bike going westward. As soon as i hit the floor, in an instant I managed to think of a few things: WTF???? Bikes gone, shit I'm off Why am I off? God damn I can feel sheet ice below me I'm okay, just sliding i remember no cars in area, just wait till i stop (at stop) mental checked myself over before moving - no pai…

Just got a Yamaha YB 100 off of ebay, 1989 29K on the clock and has been dumped by the PO, a young lad who knows nothing about bikes or how to fix them and a Dad who wants his garage back ! So I am the proud owner of a 2 stroke which I haven't had since 1967ish ! Winter is sorted then just need to find out if it will run and ride plus what if anything needs replacing, I will be back with questions about 2 strokes soon. PS anyone got a manual?

Took a lowside fall today. Front wheel hit some tractor mud on a corner and the bike went from under me. Glad to say the gear all did its job just fine. Sore leg and some light scraping on my arm. My jacket is pretty badly damaged but rather it than me. I was not going fast as ironically I could see that conditions were poor and had slowed down considerably (although obviously not enough). I feel fortunate to be able to say I learned! Now I need to go buy some parts to replace the broken bits. Its the original tyres on the bike (Yamaha YBR 125). I had been thinking of replacing them as a few people have said they are not that great. I'm not sug…

Peeps I has a problem, due to technical issues I am now having to re-enter (giggity) every password for all of my accounts for the first time in about three years. Yeah, slight problem with that, have no idea what my password is and the email account I used for registration has long since been deactivated... Is there a mod out there that could help me out here?...

Any of you lot live near here. I'm thinking of bidding on a set or rear shocks but the guy will only do pick up. If successful any chance someone could pick them up and post them off to me (obviously with remuneration) Cheers

So the bike was due a service and I knew the rear pads needed changing so I thought I'd change pads myself, a nice easy job that I could manage. I tried to work out for a few days how to change them and I couldn't so when I booked the for a service the guy looked at the caliper and told me the rear wheel needs to be removed before they can be accessed. A bit strange and a silly design I thought, anyway took my bike for the service first thing Monday morning. The guy said would be ready around 2 in the afternoon. Get's to the afternoon and I get a phone call, brilliant my bikes ready! Errr no!The guy tells me that someone has snapped an allen key or something in the nu…

These guys have been following me about and making me feel uneasy. I'm sure they want to drag me in the bushes and have their way with me. To feel a bit safer I have bought a rape alarm. Only joking. I saw somewhere ages ago (probably on here) that rigging a rape alarm to your bike makes a good little security device. I managed to get one from somewhere but lost it. I found it yesterday at the back of some drawers so I'm going to rig it up to my bike. It will wake me up if it goes off. They're a great cost effective form of security. You can even probably get one for free.

I've spend the last 3 hours trying to get the engine out of the bike, every single fucking bolt holding the bike in is totally stuck in the bike, WD40, physical violence, high heat and a lot of time didn't get them out. As far as I can tell this engine is stuck solid in the frame. Any tips?

Hello Well engine rebored etc etc and refitted with a brand new Mikuni TM 28 ss 418 flat slide carb fitted as well, Bike starts but idles at 2500 rpm idle screw is all the way out and turning mixture screw has no effect have checked with WD 40 for air leaks everywhere (none found) has new air filter fitted and have stripped carb at least 10 times . Float height is set at 22 mm as per factory setting and is running with a 240 main jet ( should not effect idle anyway) any clues to fault appreciated .
