Hey, was just wanting to pick a few of your heads over this. Its getting colder here up in Glasgow, Scotland as some of you may be experiencing. I was looking for increased protection mainly for my hands and for my upper body. I know i can lean into my bike for some protection but i was wondering if there was something more if i didn't want to fully lean in. I dont like the bike's touring screen so was looking for something different. Also i was looking for some more protection for my hands, i've though about muffs but i've been told they are quite dangerous and can sometimes catch on the brake and clutch leavers. I was wondering what you winter hardened bikers do for…

Happens maybe every couple of minutes for a second or two , does not do it when you turn the rear wheel by hand .I have also noticed tiny tiny shards of metal by the wheel if i run it on a stand im thinking to myself wheel bearing worn? if so how hard are they to replace. I use the bike everyday for work so can't afford to be off the road for long. All help would be greatly appreciated ,, Doc

just worked mine out, average over 3 years, it's 5K per annum, doesn't seem that much really but I suppose there are substantial periods over the winter when I don't venture out much on the bikes.

Hi everyone. I recently got my first 'proper' bike - YBR 125 2007. Excellent bike, I have to say! That is.. untill you want to ride at night, at which point it becomes the scariest ride of your life. The headlight is very poor, and for any visability you have to ride using dipped beam all the time. Anyway, I've just bought a halogen upgrade bulb, hopefully will make SOME improvement. I want to know whether I will need to remove all the front fairings ( I have the fully faired model, with the square headlight), or whether there is an easier way to change the bulb. Also, how would I adjust the angle of the main beam, as currently it seems to shoot hgih up into th…

I keep scoring these ridiculous deals on kijiji! Guess it helps I work from home and check the site like 10 times a day.... lol Latest deal is this Joe Rocket suit, awesome shape, seller said it was worn 6 times, looks like it too, it's mint. Knee sliders still look brand new! I'll have to do something about that come riding season.... Anyway, best part, I paid $100 CAD for this.

Thinking of ditching the car for most of the summer. I'm really only on motorways and the divvy N is a bit small. Noticed a couple of old FJ's cropping up. Anybody still doing proper mileage on them? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

I was out riding my ybr the other day and in all of the sudden it stalled, but not like the engine was broken. The engine had ran dry on oil, and it ws a bit hot. When I came home (by car..) I filled oil and made sure it was cold enough to try and start it, but i wouldn't. - it has fuel - new oil - spark plug works fine - cylinder goes up and down, with a draft - fuel flows thru the carburetor - air filter is clean and almost new What else does it need? I even tried to fill starter gas straight into the engine and it still wouldn't ignite. Any suggestions?

I have some good news folks, and a massive relief - I FOUND ANOTHER JOB!! So tonight is a celebration, and I'm hoping for the rest of this week I can get away somewhere on my bike as a celebration - still need to iron out the kinks there... But aside from that, I'm so relieved that I found another job so soon after my redundancy. When I was offer the safety of another job (albeit in Cirencester), and I chose the risk of becoming jobless, it's sure paid off! On the plus side it's a promotion, larger company and more money. The downside is that we'll be leaving Glossop and moving back down South, as I'll once again be working in the big smoke... Never mind. Assuming…

Hi guys I'm a little giddy at the moment after passing my Mod 1 yesterday on a Suzuki Gladius (really dislike the feel of these bikes... cruisers all the way!), and booked in for my mod 2 next Wednesday I have 4 years experience riding on the road with my trusty work pony the YBR125 for the past two years, and before that a yamaha DT80. I am a confident and controlled rider, not interested in speeding and learned not to make silly risks & mistakes the hard way during my teen years (now 31) I have my eye on the XVS1300. the size of it and everything appeals .... but I'm uncertain if this is a wise choice and I should start off with the 950. Il be buying new so…

Necessity meant that I travelled 700 miles on the XJ this weekend [a wedding on Sunday up in Aviemore]. My butt was killing me by the end. Didn't help that I didn't really have the option of time for a scenic route. Although, the A9 did have some gorgeous sights once you got north of Perth. That seat isn't designed for long distances. I may have to get a bagster replacement [or similar]. I'll never manage an Iron Butt on the stock seat. But far too often I'd glance down and go "well, that isn't 70mph. Ahem"

Hello everybody, so today was on my 2nd time riding on the road, after passing my cbt, all was going well until I noticed It had no power in 5th and as I went to change to 4th as the clutch was In the engine cutout, pulled over at the side of the road and the top end was smoking engine doesn't want to start, got it home, took the tappet covers off and its all solid nothing moves and it stunk when we removed the covers, just wondering if anybody had any ideas as to what needs to be done and what caused it. Spark plug was an okay colour milage is 16k.

The tyres on my max are dead, im thinking Michelin pilot road 5 is the one to go with but it looks a bit naff, works well though. The Pirelli angel st looks the nuts, but have no idea if its any good mileage wise as max's destroy tyres at the best of times. The (dying) pr3's i have on spin at the first opportunity. Wondering what you guys with the big bikes prefer, Jimmy, slice, Dutch etc as they will be close tyre abuse wise. Cheers
