Hi folks, I am thinking of doing the CBT this summer and getting myself a little 125 cruiser. I'm really drawn to the dragstar 125. I'm 5'7"/5'8" never really driven a motorbike in my life and will only be using for nice weekend rides and things like that. I would appreciate any input by owners/previous owners and just anyone who has any knowledge of the bike. Thanks in advance

my bike's battery went dead last night. i have an Alien Motion battery that is only about a year and a half old. i have 100+ LEDs as an underglow kit on my bike that i turn on when i ride at night. and if i park in some kind of public place, i leave them on, slow pulsating mode. this kit is supposed to just draw 0.2 amps. i've noticed over the past couple weeks that when i've left my bike parked with the LEDs on for more than a couple hours, they've been turned off when i return to the bike to leave. the bike has started up just fine though. last night i left my bike parked for about 4 hours. when i got back to it, no LEDs, no battery life whatsoever. do these L…

  6. Just done another stint in the Alps. I opted this year to do a little more exporation of the Western Alps, as well as riding over the Jura Mountains, something i'd not done before. All told just over 3700 miles. Itinerary: Day 1: Bristol to Freiburg. Day 2: Ride along the Vosges, Route de ballon from Mulhouse to Selestat. Day 3: Transit to Lausanne, via the high Jura, over the Col du Chatteral (nice route). Day 4: Chill out in Lausanne, swim in Lac Leman. Day 5: Ride from Lausanne to Brig. Taking in JaunPass, Interlaken. Afternoon riding Grimsel, Furka, Oberalp and Susten [doubling back around for the hell of it]. Day 6: Brig to Albertville, via the slow road…

  8. Got such a sweet deal on a bunch of parts for the FZ today! Kid was super nice, he got hit off his and didnt' want to risk putting it back on the road with a bent frame, so he parted it out, along with his other parts bike...so I got: 2 x Complete engines (one with full wiring harness including ignition key lock) - they both have their issues, but between the two there are tonnes of parts 4 into 2 into 1 exhaust with an aftermarket muffler of some type ( pipes from an XJ maybe? FZ has a 4 into 1 ) Ignition controller Almost brand new chain Gauge cluster Entire body fairing set (one damaged) Front brake system Two handlebar signal switch clusters Almost new intersta…

So, Again, another noob question. I know some people don't ride in the winter months, but due to commuting, I will have to. So, what advise do you guys give to a newbie in the rain. Are there particular things that are deceivingly slippy on the road etc etc. Also, what about maintenance, is there anything i should be making sure i do on a regular basis to help the bike though the winter?

Another week another problem on the YBR front. When pulling away it's almost impossible to do it smoothly, you can get the cluch so far out before a loud clunk radiates through the entire bike and the clutch engages all at once. Weirdly though, it only happens once it's warm, and gets worse the hotter the engine is. Been wracking my brains and I can't pinpoint it, the chain is adjusted and lubed perfectly, the clutch cable and lever where both replaced 2 months ago. Can't figure it out, worn out clutch plates, broken gear tooth, bent clutch rod, worn clutch/drive-train? Anyone got any ideas? Don't know what's caused it, I've been changing the oil every 1000 miles re…

Got my LB80 going, has a small petcock leak at the moment, going to remove it and get a simple on and off one. anyways, my max speed is 35mph, I plan to change the gearing (sprockets) but need to know if anyone has done this route before, I want to get a bigger sprocket in front and smaller one in the rear. What size can I fit in the case without using the dremel? cheers! also, what is the stock gearing of the LB80? I read somewhere it was 14 front 32 rear..

Hello, Does anyone have a bike but not a car? Can it be done? Do you think I can do with selling my car and get a bike? Do you guys still ride to work during winter when it's snowing or pissing it down hard? Also, how would I do my weekly food shopping with the Mrs on the bike? :? Is all this possible and wise? Or shall I just save up to get a bike and keep the car? I'm just weighing up my options for when I pass my DAS.
