With temperatures around 15c and not a cloud in the sky....I decided to go and explore the Sierra De Castril natural park in the province of Granada, Spain! It starts about 30 miles from where I live, and once you get into the natural park itself, it's all dirt tracks and gravel around the network of lakes. I would estimate you could go for about 40 miles into it....and not see a soul. The views in the mountains are amazing! Then as I got further into the park I could see the lakes... Nice backdrop for the XT.... These seem to go for miles, breaking off into small rivers and streams... After about …

I’m currently sat under a tarp near Mont Blanc - I’m camping at the foot of a glacier in fact, and there’s a silent thunderstorm going on around me. So it feels like a suitable time to admit something to you guys... Not long after our Wales weekend I found myself on a rare mid-week rideout on a very hot day. I had always planned a Europe tour for this year (currently on it), and by all intents and purposes I was doing it on my F800GT. The mid-week ride was to focus my mind and think about what I’d need to comfortably execute my 16 day camp trip in a self-sufficient manner. So anyway, I wheel my bike out my lock-up and for only the 2nd time in my riding life I had a flat…

So the bike was due a service and I knew the rear pads needed changing so I thought I'd change pads myself, a nice easy job that I could manage. I tried to work out for a few days how to change them and I couldn't so when I booked the for a service the guy looked at the caliper and told me the rear wheel needs to be removed before they can be accessed. A bit strange and a silly design I thought, anyway took my bike for the service first thing Monday morning. The guy said would be ready around 2 in the afternoon. Get's to the afternoon and I get a phone call, brilliant my bikes ready! Errr no!The guy tells me that someone has snapped an allen key or something in the nu…

  11. Gents, Ok so now I have this machine that can do (supposedly) 140 MPH and on a weekly basis I'm now working a few days a week in Brixham so have 80 miles to cover to get there. A30 to Bodmin and A38 through Plymouth and beyond. I like going fast like the next man and certainly the A30 from Bodmin to Truro is pretty much deserted after 7PM on a Thursday. Once again last week cruising at 160 Kph (100 Mph) sustained is good going and pretty pleasant on the FJ. So on a straight and quiet stretch ...... ok lets see what this thing can do ...... but at 190 (195) Kph/118 Mph the influence of the wind just gets too much and uncomfortable and starts bobbing your …

Massive warning in the workshop manual section for the rear shock and remote reservoir saying must not sepertate from one another. Risk of accident etc But why? Its not built on it, Just linked from rear shock to side of head via a banjo ended pipe. Its ment to be gas filled and under 120psi Problem is that the end with the valve in has failed ie valve snapped of in my hand so now has a bolt in. No gas came out when it snapped either but i am sure thats my jack hammer death bounce swingarm is about.. took i while but gas leaked out with use etc. Why cant i just buy a new remote reservoir ? or am i missing the point here and even with a de presurised unit t…

Hello all. A quick question. I have a 1974 DT 175 Trail. It has 1200 miles on the clock and is un damaged , just dusty/dirty. I know that I must not offer the bike for sale here, but I do wish to find out how much it may be worth. Or how to find out its value. If anyone can help I would be very grateful. Thanks. 17. So, I've been keeping up with George R. R. Martin's journal updates. It seems that the casting for HBO's show based on his book series, A Song of Ice and Fire, is coming along rather well. Most of the people on here probably recognize the actors better than myself, as they are all British. I believe they're building a mock castle for the series somewhere outside of Belfast. Anyway, if you know the series you can check out the updates here:
