is it me or aren't there any xj600's on the road anymore? I've only seen 2 in 18 months, 1 of those was a total wreck and I mean TOTAL WRECK!!!!! fairing was all smashed in, seat was riffy as anything, front screen had been ripped off etc I thought stuff that I ain't parking next to that thing! The other was a xj600n which was in good condition through-out! Seems everyone has sporty bikes now and mine is like a relic or something along those lines I know mines no oil painting and could do with a new lick of paint but I'm thinking of upgrading this year hopefully, long as I can get some dosh together..... he says unconvincenly this pic was taken last year before I chan…

Hi all While walking to the DVLA this afternoon, to apply for a British driver's license, I caught myself regularly doing "lifesavers" to see if I could "safely overtake" another pedestrian. I think it's something I've always been doing naturally but only made the bike connection today. Is it something you've noticed yourself doing too?

  5. Hi All, I'm afraid my first post is a call for help. I've just passed my test and treated myself to a 2009 XJ-6N. The bike seemed immaculate and was purchased from a dealer. The issue occurred around 200 miles into riding the bike I noticed that the o-rings on the chain were popping out and ridding round with the chain (which were then cut on the sprocket). The bike has only done 6000 miles. So I went back the dealer and said look (even with my limited knowledge) this isn't right, he agreed to have the chain changed for me and was really good about getting it done. ...and now the issue, I've done around 600 miles on the new chain. I've just got back from a bit …

  6. ok, so i have my little rxs, and im going to be making it road legal. i would really like to umm "pimp it out" (i think thats the term) 1st id really like to know if i can get some sort of faring. something preferably like this no idea where id get one for a rxs 100 though.. and then lets say i changed the lights and stuff on the bike for led after market lights. what would be my best bet. do i need to re do the whole bike's wiering "start from scratch" to make it all 12v. or would i be able to say leav it at 6v, but make a little pcb. with some transitors and a few caps and put those inline with the lighting so it bumps the 6v up to 12v just for th…

so i finished my yamaha dt125lc2 project back in march, and all is good, but in may i noticed my bulbs kept blowing after a little detective work i cam up trumps, as it ws the summer months it never really bothered me and the problem slipped to the back of my mind, but now the summer months have come to an ebrupt end, i think now the problem needs to be sorted once and for all ,, i stripped my plastics to view my battery, and noticed the earth had come loose and disconnectedm itself. after amending tht problem, i went for a spin up the road and all was well till i opened her up and again like many times before my bulbs blew, first the normal beam then the highbeam,,i…

Hey all, have just in the last few days upgraded from a ybr125 to an xj6n and although I'm totally loving it, I'm finding my hips ache and on occasion feel like they are gonna pop out of joint. One guy I work with (also a biker) says it's probs just a settling in thing. And come to think about it had similar issues when I started riding the 125. Any suggestions? man up!, give it time, bulk up you skinny git, Maybe a riding position issue?

Decided to take my newly acquired Draggy for a spin yesterday, lovely sunny day tra la la. Stopped for petrol 1.3 miles from home, paid for petrol, sat on bike, ignition, starter button .... nothing ! To cut a very long story short I called the breakdown / recovery ppl after trying to bump it , the first chap came and couldn't start it with a jump and had the wrong vehicle to lift it, so a second vehicle was called for. In the meantime I decided to text the chap I bought it from to see if he had any ideas .... The 3 magic rules came as the reply 1. Sidestand. 2. Neutral. 3. Kill switch. I chose number 3 and went home calling myself some wonderf…

  17. Having just suited and gloved up yesterday my phone rang. I got it out of my bag easily enough but then disaster ! The glove material is an electrical insulator so wouldn't activate the touchscreen and I didn't really want to de-glove.but it was an important call that I needed to take. I thought initially that my nose would suffice just to answer the call but regrettably my nose appears to be clad in skin that is also an insulator ( and I have been blessed with a nose that would give Karl Malden a run for his money so hitting the intended spot would have been a challenge anyway ). In desperation I decided that my tongue would have to do. I did manage to answer the call bu…

I moan at £10 for a trim and often do it myself - grade 1 or 0 all over. Cheap and easy to look after without helmet hair. I tried trimming the dog a couple of months back to save a bit if cash and missed bits here and there and shaved him elsewhere. So here's £35 worth of wash, cut and dry:

Got soaked to the bone today, I had almost forgotten about the rain with the decent summer we have had. It has got cold lately and it looks like winters on its way. I don't mind the cold but, the getting piss wet through annoys me. Better find my waterproofs.

Ever had to use breakdown relay? if so who have you used and were they successful? Had a chance myself to find out when my bike would not start in that heavy rain last night..........and I ended up getting myself home at 1.30 am................ Don't worry I've been on the phone this morning!!!!!! I'm with the AA and have breakdown with Relay, except they used a 3rd party company, who had no means to take the bike home .......or me!....and now I have to go back to work (where I left it) and get her home. They've offered to come out again but I'm so F********* off, I don't want anything more to do with them today. Probably hasty words but when you've only had a fe…
