  1. I've just heard on the idiot box that they have decided to make middle lane hogging and tail gaiting a driving offence. This is great news and I think will be welcomed my most. I am a little concerned though over the implications of this, are we now going to see more and more cars ducking in and out of lanes because they don't understand what over taking is and what middle lane hogging is. I tend to stick to inside lane myself and have a right old time dodging people "pulling in" into "empty" (me) lanes which either forces me to back off into the car behind (now causing him to tailgate me) or have to pull out into middle lane to get room (look, now I am a hogging …

Heya, Been offered an FJ1200. Just wondering what opinions people had of this thing? Handling, performance, maintenance, general daily use, etc? Anything specific to watch out for? Thanks, Tasky.

  3. So was speaking to one of my aunties borthers at the weekend, and as per got onto talking about bikes. was sayign that i had an sv but was looking for something else, and turns out he's selling a Thundercat! went and had a look at it and its clean, has service history and would get taxed and tested prior to sale. asking for 1400, and the insurance is less than my SV, despite the jump in horsepower, guessing because of the "Sport Touring" classification? can mind what year is it, only had a quick look - going back for a proper look and test this weekend. whats your thoughts on this bike?

Hi, I have recently had my 2004 R1 in for repairs with my local bike mechanic. Tonight I noticed a whining noise coming from the engine and then all of a sudden the sound of metal rolling around inside the engine. So being curious, I started the engine up again and it sounded ok-ish, but then when I wanted to switch it on again, it will not turn the engine over. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have put a clip on youtube where you can hear the whining noise before you cold hear metal rolling around. http://youtu.be/Zvz6LQxg7t8

Okay so before you read this, take note that I don't care about loosing any value to the bike. I'm not fussed about killing it and I'm not fussed on the 'wasting' money part. I'm just seeing what I can get out of it, for it is a 125, + enduro. It currently does 70 to 75 on a good day, 65 to 70 on a normal day. I want to see if I can add 10 to 15 mph to it (maybe more, but probably not, I know!). So for the upgrades (ones I currently know of): Smaller sprocket on back, larger 1 on front (increase top end). TTR125 150cc Big Bore Kit (can fit it to XT125, apparently!). Put on a straight through (ditch the cat) and a better end can. K&N Filter and block off the…

The other day I was looking through some photos of old DT's and came across thing beauty, which looks like a DT but the front end quite confuses me in terms of model, anyway back to the point. There is this thing behind the seat that looks like a "seat extender" which in my view looks really good. Does anyone have any information regarding this chrome piece? Was is an option extra? And can it be fit for later model DT's like my '80 DT175MX? It really grabs my attention, and oh btw the rider's seat looks quite shorter. Photo below: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi, just wondered what people though the value would be on a bike I have. It a 1980 XS250 in black (Mars bar) its in showroom condition and has covered just 3300 miles in its 34 years. I have every Mot, original keys, handbook, tool kit ect. It really is a beautiful bike but I have no idea of its worth as the only ones I can find on ebay and such are ratters. This is pristine, taxed, mot'd and genuinely original. Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

Hello! I'm thinking of ditching the Autolube oil delivery system from my '81 DT250MX/I suspect that the previous owner has already done that for me but I haven't got around to making 100% sure. Basically I'm going for the 'oil in the petrol tank' approach. Does anyone know the oil/fuel ratio for doing this. I've never owned a 2-stroke so I'm used to just sticking it all in the bottom end and being done with it. Cheers.

OK lads, having rebuilt the bike and fitted all new ignition from CDI,coils, leads, plugs and caps.I bought a set of used carbs as the originals were butchered (at least the mixture screws were stripped by someone using a far too small driver i suspect)and one of the slides had a hairline crack in it.I also bought a used stainless high flow exhaust and fitted that, along with high flow air filter. So after some advice from the internet I fitted an upgrade kit of stage one tuning jets.larger main and larger pilot and raised the needle a notch. Now the bike runs very rich and was very hesitant from standstill until I drilled some holes in the rear plate of the silencers. She now …

So exhaust is all done , took it for a spin and worked fine, pulled up for an hour, then pulled away again, and 500 yards seem to start losing lower then just died, started again a few times but as I pull throttle it has no power and eventually refused to even start, any ideas, cos I'm getting inpatient and losing interest in biking due to many issues with this, seems I fix one and another 2 happen

Did 50 odd miles today with the eldest daughter on the back and she is really starting to get it. Only got headbutted once today, she uses the rack rather than me to hold on. Can really get a move on with her on the back now I can rely on her not moving at the wrong time. Actually enjoying the bike rather than worrying if she will stay on for the next overtake/bend etc. Only real pain is she rests on me under braking but that's improving with her upper body strength (hockey training) and the TDR front brake really struggles pulling up when the bike has a pillion. I may fit a blue spot for peace of mind. She is hinting after some leathers and boots now th…
