What do you guys think? (keep in mind that the cables had yet to be cleaned up at this point in the installation) Gotta say the difference in handing is ridiculous, I've found that what was once the limit on a bend is now more than comfortable, plus I'm enjoying the new riding stance a lot, feels like this is how the bike should have come from the factory, not with those ridiculous mini apes. Probably gonna get a set of bar risers (it just touches slightly at full lock), shorten the wiring coming from the controls and get myself a new front break line (needed one anyway).

Hi all, here's a piccy of my new purchase. I am delighted with it as it's been so well cared for by the previous owner. It's got full service history and low miles. Does anyone know the details of how many of these were produced? I understand they were done by UK dealers as a special. This one came from Groombridges near Heathfield, Sussex. Regards Mat

Picked up my new XVS 1300 custom today, first new bike for about 35 years, only managed a short ride today but will be going for a decent ride tomorrow. Its amazing how different it is to ride compared to the 1300 midnight star that I had and funny being back with pegs again. Only disappointments are my solo seat and rack hasn't been delivered yet and that really crappy quiet exhaust, I mean come on Yamaha its a V twin its meant to be fucking LOUD, looks like I'll be changing or modding them sometime real soon.

Hey all, have just in the last few days upgraded from a ybr125 to an xj6n and although I'm totally loving it, I'm finding my hips ache and on occasion feel like they are gonna pop out of joint. One guy I work with (also a biker) says it's probs just a settling in thing. And come to think about it had similar issues when I started riding the 125. Any suggestions? man up!, give it time, bulk up you skinny git, Maybe a riding position issue?

I've been thinking this over for a while now, I have a Fazer 600, 2005 that I (just about) swapped last year for a Varadero 125 that my missus had. I've ridden it a few times but It's just to, erm, how do I put it, Fizzy! I just don't like the way you have to wind it up to make it go, I like to be able to pull away with low revs and push the bike on. Don't get me wrong, this is a great bike for someone just past their test (or who've never had a big bike with loads of torque) - it's just not for me. So, I've been looking at what I can get to replace it. I need something that me and the misus can ride in comfort (the rear seat on the Tenere is just too high for her to g…

Ok Yamaha experts ... I need your advice. I am thinking Bout trading in my wee fazer for a 02 FJR1300. I took the FJR for a test ride and thoroughly enjoyed the experience - although I have to admit that the gear changes sounded a little clunky to me. I also found that the bike had to be ridden for a little while before it stopped conking out at lights etc. now, coming from a yamaha dealer it will (one hopes) be fully serviced before sale but I just wanted to canvass your views on the bike in general - any thoughts on what I should look out for? I mentioned the gear changes and he said this is more common in shaft drives? He did agree to take a look at the idling spee…
