not been on for a while and now running a 650 dragstar which sadly has a bit of a whining top gear and i was just wondering if any one can tell me either just how hard it is to change out the gears and whether its really worth the time and trouble in doing so or how i could go about making it quieter, if such a thing is possible that is. Any help would be really appreciated. thanks.

My 73 CT1 kick start gear will not engage it's mating gear located behind the clutch pack. The mating gear wobbles all over the place and I have not removed the clutch to see how this gear is supposed to be fastened to it's shaft. Does anyone know what the problem is ? Easy fix ? What in the way of parts are needed ? Can you recommend where to buy the needed parts ? Thanks

Hi all! Hopefully it's OK for me to do this (and do it here). If not please put me in my place. I realize this auction is about to end so there may not be time for a lot of advice. However, it's the exact year RD350 I'm dreaming of and it shows that it's in in my vicinity! How high do you all think it would be worth going (if the bidding gets off)? I know it won't be as fun as building my own, but at least I'll have something that I can ride on the highway without struggling to get up to the 55-65 speed limit... at least until I can get my own bike built. I'm not sure about the wire behind the motor or why he would do that. ?? I also don't like the routing of the front br…

Hey, I replaced the clutch disks on my 1978 DT125E today and now the clutch doesnt seem to work at all. I can put the bike in any gear when not running with the clutch in but when I release the clutch lever I can still roll the bike around as if the clutch is constantly engaged. I have yet to add oil to the crank case just in case the cover has to come off again. what could be wrong with my bike? I have been restoring this bike to working condition for months as my high school senior project and this is just puzzling, at first the clutch was constantly engaged and now its just the opposite What The Hell! Any help would be fantastic, names Mike by the way.

This is my first post, and I'm hoping somebody can help me out. I just picked up a 79 XS750SF. Bike looks like it was well maintained, but when I started it up, gas started pouring out of the air box after a few min. Thinking that it was a stuck float, I pulled the carbs off, cleaned them completely, and put everything back together. When I started the bike again, gas started leaking from the air box again. The only thing I can think of is that I may have been running the bike with the petcock on PRI. I've never had a bike with a "prime" setting on the petcock, so I was unfamiliar with what that setting was. Could this have been my problem?

Hey guys, newbie here. I just purchased a 79’ DT 175 that had no papers and no title with it. I’m trying to get it street legal but have no idea how to go about doing that. A lot of people have talked about going through Vermont to get it registered. I would also like to find the VIN if I could but can’t seem to do that after looking the bike over pretty hard. Is there a place it usually is? I have a frame and motor serial number which is 2A7-001###. Can anyone speak to any of this? Thanks!

Anybody had advanced timing issue with 80 to 83 XT250. Bike started to kick back when trying to start. Checked timing and it is way too far advanced. Timing is a little over two inches distance on flywheel advanced. All source coil and pulse coils check good. Any possibility CDI unit has just shot craps? Please let me know if you have seen this issue. Have checked position of crank. "T" mark lines up when at TDC.
