I usually do not write a mean e-mail like the one that was here and after reading it I do not want it posted anymore but after being nice for so long with no positive results and being ignored every person has a point where they say enough is enough. I was not mad at first because everybody makes mistakes but when you are lied to and you have to find out on your own that someone is pulling a fast one on you that hurts. Like I said Mr. Smeeton is probalby a nice guy to you but not to me. They were ignoring me that is why I wrote that e-mail, then I got a reply. It is possible with older motorcycles that it could have different parts on it from different motorcycles but…

Well after the breaking in period of my top end rebuild my little dtr isn't running like it was... I'll try to explain as best I can. Bike pulls away perfect up to and beyond powerband 1st,2nd however I notice in 3rd its not revving up to the line a little hesitant then 4th is the same I can't open full throttle as I get a "burrrrrrwaaaahhhhhhh" like its wanting air drop off the throttle a little and away it pulls again same in 5th I don't even get into 6th as I can't get her into the powerband enough in 5th so 6th just drops off the revs. I've cleaned out the petrol tap and fitted new washers etc, run through full tank of petrol with wurth 2 stroke additive, cleane…

So I'm supposed to be going to Leiden in August to meet up with some pals, we try do this once a year or so. Now that I have my grown-up bike, it seems like an ideal opportunity for a little road-trip. I have two choices really, with the current availability of transport: Ferry: Dover-Calais Should cost about £150 in tickets and fuel, about 650 miles of riding in total (half on Friday, half on Sunday) EuroStar: Dover-Calais Should cost about £120 in tickets and fuel, about 550 miles of riding in total (half on Friday, half on Sunday) Those are the direct routes using mostly motorways etc. I'll probably end up ditching that plan and go on more interest…

In my short time riding, I wish I'd known about the wisdom of avoiding false economies and finding out if what you're getting really suits what you need it for. So the jacket at £50 might seem a bargain, but if it's like wearing a bin bag in the heat and tissue in the cold and wet, pay more for something good. Also, the cheap lid is OK 'til you realise you could have spent a little extra and got pins on the visor for pinlock and avoided misting up in the rain. (Still not sure whether this ratchet wrench set from Aldi will fall in to the 'buy cheap, buy twice' category - https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/thursday-specialbuys-15th-august/product-detail/ps/p/5-piece-r…

Ok doing the EBAY thing and saw a good deal on ebay, next thing you know I now own a FJ1200, just got to tell the wife , that's not a conversation you will want to hear about. So going to pick it up during the week in Macclesfield just got to hire a van and go and get it, seems ok and the guy selling it says it's alright but will have to give it the once over when I get there, thanks to Tasky (thanks again mate) I now know what to look for and at least I will not be buying blind as the FJ website has all the "what to look for" bit's and bob's laid out, so as soon as I get it home will get some photos up for you all to look at, wish me luck please as I might be sleeping …

Just ordered a few bits from Fowlers. My first time there. The site said everything was in stock. Paid and got an email saying every single item was on backorder. Not impressed. I won't be using them again.

(Sorry about all these tech posts) Turned on my laptop and on the bottom icon bar there was an unfamiliar Windows symbol. I clicked on it and it's a free Windows 10 download. It's the full system as well. I read about this ages ago and was waiting for t but forgot all about it. Was debating whether or not to get it as I like and am used to the one I have but thought I might as well move forward as I'm currently on Windows 7. Check your computers.

Afternoon all. Well I think I broken it Hopefully something and nothing but as I was coming home at 23:00 down the M56 last night the boy didn’t sound to be fully on song and I noticed that the lights slightly flickering on the dash then I saw 2 or 3 white flashes near my right knee and that was it he decided to have a sleep I was in lane 3 and was passing a couple of cars so I backed off a tad to fall behind the cars then i coasted across to a slip road with no hard shoulder and parked it in the widest part which was about twice the width of the bike and sat on the barriers and called recovery , got it home but I haven’t got a clue where to start. …

I’m currently sat under a tarp near Mont Blanc - I’m camping at the foot of a glacier in fact, and there’s a silent thunderstorm going on around me. So it feels like a suitable time to admit something to you guys... Not long after our Wales weekend I found myself on a rare mid-week rideout on a very hot day. I had always planned a Europe tour for this year (currently on it), and by all intents and purposes I was doing it on my F800GT. The mid-week ride was to focus my mind and think about what I’d need to comfortably execute my 16 day camp trip in a self-sufficient manner. So anyway, I wheel my bike out my lock-up and for only the 2nd time in my riding life I had a flat…

....then you'll get screwed by the manufacturers. What am I talking about? Well I'm referring to manufacturer's pricing structures and dealer networks. Because Honda dealerships tend to be solus suppliers (no other brands), the pricing structures remain constant. You don't see rival dealers slashing huge amounts off machines, and you don't see Honda dramatically dropping prices on new models like Yamaha have just done with the FZ6, Kawasaki did with the Z750, and Suzuki did with the SV1000. A friend of mine paid £7K for a Burgman in August....they're now selling new for £5K. Your investment just won't hold any sort of value. But Honda move slow mod…
