Hi guys and gals...(soooo `dj`ish aint it), new proud Yammy FZ6 owner here, one week old already. Right a few questions i hope all you other proud owners out there can help with. Running in the engine? How many miles? Revs? Speed etc? Any/all advice and tips welcome. Is it common for a loud `cluncking` into first and second gears? Is it normal for the engine to be so revie, even though im in top gear it always feels as though there should be one more final gear, or is this also just part of the running in period? Taken it up to 55 the most at the moment. Anyway, look forward to all your tips on the bikes.

  7. Two questions really, my 57 plate XT125R is serving me well but as I commute daily on it all year round I'd like to get some of those toasty heated grips! Am I right in thinking the XT125 will have a smaller battery and might not cope with them? So anybody fitted them and also what make/model is recommended? Second question, as many people have commented on here, the headlight is pants. Is it upgradable to one of these hid type things? Or again am I risking the battery going 'I've had enough, I cant do this anymore!' ?

Hi all. I am looking for a bit of advice, if anyone can help. I have the chance of buying a 1981 Yamaha XS250 Custom, that has been sat in a garage since 1982. It only has 415 miles on the clock, and is still owned buy the original owner. It does have corrosion on it, and the chrome is pretty goosed. He said he managed to get it running again, but not very good. Now i do know what risks are with this bike, and i know they were not brilliant. It just seems to me that it could be a good project. What i am looking for is some advise to what it really is worth, and what it would be worth when restored. I have posted a few pictures of the bike, and your comments would be great…

I am building a bare bones "Old Skool" street fighter from a 1982 400 seca its almost done while routing out through out the frame my question is what are the 2 square relays that mounted in rubber below the seat on the gastank brace ? I broke one of the wires going to one . as I will only have a headlight tail light and brake light trying to decide if I need it Thanks Tom

Well, under threat of a hiding from Goff (I interpreted ) I'm introducing myself rather late as I've been a member for a wee while. As my username suggests, I'm from Northern Ireland but I live in Birmingham. I did my CBT on 12th August and picked up my YBR125 5 days later. Nice little bike, but I'm having so much trouble with the gears (ie getting into 2nd ). Anyway I'm dealing with that atm and trying hard to carry on enjoying learning to ride. I'm a fat lass called Chris (Chrisi or Christine to my family) married to Chris (honestly) and we've two dogs. Hubby has a baby Varadero atm which I'm hoping to inherit when he does his DAS course as I can't do mi…

Yes i know i did want too shout this!!!!!!! this morning doing a little research into a phone on the Nokia website (firms contract get em new phones quite regularly) i found a little snippet of info, there is a small chance batteries are likely to catch fire on some phones while charging, anyhow it only concerns a batch of the BL-5C batteries go too this page and look it gives you a place to enter the serial number of your battery and it will tell you if you are entitled to a free new one, good way of getting a new gen battery, apologies if you already know http://batteryreplacement.nokia.com/batteryreplacement/en/ Merv

Hi, I've just bought myself a 2008 Yamaha TZR 50 and I was thinking about fitting a tail tidy because the stock back end is huge! However, I've just been out and looked how it would fit but it seems as though the number plate bracket and the undertray is all stuck together in one bit. Now I've taken off the seat to see if there are any bolts keeping it in place but I can't seem to see any. i've managed to get a few pictures off YouTube to see how people fitted theirs and they seem to have taken the undertray out and the number plate bracket but if I did that all the electrics and wiring would be exposed because that's what the battery is sitting on, effec…

Get this- my bike was stolen couple of weeks back and found by the police not too far from my home. They took it in to impound for finger print analysis (whatever- if they even do that) and said they would ring when we could pick it up. Phoned last thur but was unable to get it straight away. Got a letter through the post demanding stating we had to pay 420 pounds to get it back. They have charged storage fee since the day they picked it up...I could have picked it up from day 1 in my van and not had to pay a bloody penny.   How do i get my money back?!! Any suggestions welcome (non violent) ...maybe

  19. I was just wondering about this because I'm licensed to ride any motorcycle in the US. Lets say I came to the UK, and wanted to buy or rent a bike to tour the UK, Ireland, and Scottland on. Would I be able to buy/rent any bike over there like I could here in the US and ride it legally using my current US license, or would I be limited legally on my choices? I know with a car license it should be valid to drive any car in any country worldwide, but I don't know if it would be the same for a bike since you have the graduated license system over there.
