No ice along my lane but when I turned onto a bigger lane where there was no tree cover I found myself on ice. Although I was on a straight and only going 15 to 20 mph, the scooter went to the left and went to the right. No damage to scooter but a badly sprained ankle and twisted knee. The same patch of lane and another section further along and a nasty deep dip with bends have ice most mornings. The council don't grit the lane. So whenever it's below freezing I end up going to work by car. Its over 2 weeks ago now and the ankle is almost recovered but the knee is badly swollen with a huge water swelling over the knee cap so I can hardly bend the leg and i…

Hi Guys, Just wondering if anyone keeps an ICE ( Incase of Emergency ) number stored in there phone, or a tag or something in there pocked with next of kin details ect. stopped for fuel today and got speaking to another biker, he was wearing a High Vis vest over his leathers with his name on the back of it, and the words " ICE Details Located on Right Pocket Zip" and he had like a security pass/id holder on his jacked pocket and a card with all his details and stuff on it. Seems like a good idea, and i do usually wear my high vis when riding at night and for long distances in "normal" scottish weather - rain, snow, fog, low cloud haha. Whats everyones thoughts…

I've broken my bike! I suspect it's from push starting it when I was fed up with trying to kick start it (low on gas and trying to get to the gas station). Once it started after push-starting, the engine sounded TERRIBLE! When I stopped the engine because of the horrible noise, the kick-starter wouldn't move more than an eighth of the way down. Backing the bike up in gear reset the kick-start, but the engine still sounded awful when started. I've checked the cylinder and piston and everything is A-OK. What could I have done? Gears broken? Crankshaft bent? It's just so darn hard to get in there!!! Luckily I found anther engine and kick assembly on eBay, bu…

Hey all, I have a 2002 R6, it has a Scorpion Exhaust on it. Have been wanting to change it for a while but not sure what too. I quite like a hi-level exhaust. I like the style of the newer models R6's that have nothing between the tyre & seat cowling. Thats where I got the idea of having an hi-level exhaust or if it was possible to put a stubby can on it, however have no idea how to hang it, to mke sure its secure. Anyone got any ideas that will help or even better, some pictures that could jog my mind? All help/options welcome guys n gals Chris

Hi, New to the forum. Just bought a DT250 MX for £300 - it's in a bit of a state but that's okay (that was the plan). Wasn't used on the road for many years and so has no reg plates (among other things). I'm trying to find the VIN so I can send off for the log book. WHERE IS THE VIN?! I've located a number of some description on the headstock and on the engine (they match) that goes like *1R7-132216* but I've come to understand that this isn't what I'm looking for. Could anyone tell me what that number is and more importantly, where are the numbers I'm looking for? You'd think this would be a simple operation but it's been made slightly more difficult by the previous owne…

This idiot weaved through traffic on a Vancouver Island freeway doing 300/ k/h. If he had even made a minor error in timing or if a vehicle had changed lanes there would have been one hell of a pile up. The cops have tracked down the bike which had no plates or insurance when the video was made. It is owned by a woman who has had numerous driving infractions and has lost her licence in the past. They believe the bike was driven by her son who also has had numerous traffic violations including driving without a license and driving at excessive speeds. They have impounded the bike and given the mother a pile of tickets totaling in excess of $1400 because she owns the b…

After being knocked off my bike and left for dead in a hit and run two weeks ago I've just come within inches of being smashed into again! Some dickhead has pulled out in front of me after watching me come from the top of the road and left it until the last minute to pull out on me. Causing me to slam on. I caught up with the idiot at a junction and proper gave him a mouthful. He wouldn't even look at me because he knew he was in the wrong. I never will quit but sometimes I think is it worth it? The standard of driving seems to get worse each day. Every time I go out on my bike I'm taking a gamble. I'm really fed up of it now. I think my problem is I use my bike daily as …

....then you'll get screwed by the manufacturers. What am I talking about? Well I'm referring to manufacturer's pricing structures and dealer networks. Because Honda dealerships tend to be solus suppliers (no other brands), the pricing structures remain constant. You don't see rival dealers slashing huge amounts off machines, and you don't see Honda dramatically dropping prices on new models like Yamaha have just done with the FZ6, Kawasaki did with the Z750, and Suzuki did with the SV1000. A friend of mine paid £7K for a Burgman in August....they're now selling new for £5K. Your investment just won't hold any sort of value. But Honda move slow mod…
