well people ive been looking around for something with a little more hp and ive been looking some more, now i stumbled across a thread about the athena 170cc a few people gave some reviews of this kit and they seem to sound positive. (i also know a company on westgate road newcastle who said they would dial my carb in for £15) most said you dont gain much in the way of topend but its more low down and mid, so in essence you can use 6th gear and it actually pulls... im guessing that if the bottome end can handle it this would be a decent little upgrade - the price of £400 is a little steep but im getting sick of my little bike slowing down going uphill i would jus…

I took all my electrics off the bike to do maintenance and cleaning and now everything is back together. The headlight and sidelight is not working. Everything else works fine. The battery for the bike doesn't charge but it will charge enough to run full power for 20 mins or so could this be the reason the head light/side light aren't powering up. I don't think it is wiring problem. More than likely the bulbs are gone could i test by using rear bulb for headlight i'm guessing its a bad idea but let me know. Cheers for help

I recently purchased a new mikuni carb off ebay as per suggestions on here. It went on fine, bu it seems to be missing the hole for the oil injection line. It is not drilled out. Am I missing something.? It fired first kick, but after noticing the oil line we shut it down. Thoughts and thanks

HI all, I'm new here and in fact a new bike enthusiast. I'm 21 and I bought a Thundercat 600 in January with all my tests booked before the new laws came in. Unfortunately my test was cancelled 3 times because of the snow which means now I must abide by the new laws. I already have a good idea of what I can and cannot do but there is one rule that is causing me problems: "You cannot restrict a bike more than 50% its total bhp". Now, brand new my bike would have been producing 100bhp meaning getting it to the legal 46bhp would be illegal.. just. But since its now 14 years old, I'm fairly sure it will have lost a few horses. If I was to somehow prove it was now 92bhp…

hello there children of the corn, i was looking on ebay at bikes for want of a better word 'window shopping 'and i discoverd a lot of xs400's that have been altered to look like oldish school bobbers or cafe racer type looking machines they seam to fetch around the 900 quid margin and some of them look real nice a look that i would love to obtain,, i wondered if anyone has any experiance of these machines and how they are to handle ie.. do you need to be an experianced biker to ride one or are they to be considered a user friendly machine..if you get me...? also i was thinking the time will soon come for me to upgrade beyond the power of my 125 and go for a poss 250 or 40…

so, the previous owner of my 05 DT125RE was a bit of a wally and has screwed the air mix screw too tight and ended up shearing off any sort of groove for my screwdriver. I have just come off the phone from my local yam dealer and we had a great laugh at a new carb being over 400 quid! So I am now searching the internet for a second hand one but I am unsure what year/models will fit my bike. also any suggestions for good sites to look at would be much appreciated or even if anyone on here is selling one or knows someone who is. all help much appreciated!!

At last my bike is sorted, 12 months mot, fork seals, brake pads, electrics, front wheel bearings all for £219! I'm very pleased with it, they have done a good job and serviced it as well i.e. oiling cables ect. The bike is sorted now and as long as I look after her there will be no major problems.

If you go to the WEMOTO website , 3/4 of the way down the right hand side of the page is a search OEM part number box , this means if you have a part number you can search and see if it is still available and a price, I found this out last night when i put in the part number of the side panel grommets for my RD400 into google , and their page came up , I have seen gen ones for £3 each + P&P on fleece bay, they where about £1.30 on there and they are Gen ones to http://www.wemoto.com/

hi folks, not sure if this is the right room for this question but desperate times call for desperate measures. the time for shipping my XVS1100 from Australia to UK is fast approaching and have just been hit with another documentation request. DVLA say they would like a document to confirm the year of the bike as the VIN plate may not be enough on the off-chance it has been tampered with (it was a private buy so no dealer receipt) and if i cannot produce this "back-up evidence" then i may have to register it as a Q plate. i do have copies of the QLD transport dept paperwork which has the year on it (2006) but am now being told that they dont count as it was me who ha…
