  2. Guys/Girls, I really want to buy some Vance and Hines Cruzers for my 2004 XVS650A Dragstar classic to get rid of the wet fart noise my stock pipes manage... but I dont seem to be able to find anywhere in the UK that has them in stock. I have to admit I'm also a little confused about which ones fit an 04 classic if I'm honest! :S Any help / advice would be great. Got a lot of help with my last question and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! Cheers! Rich

After reading a thread on here and thinking about it, i have decided to tour East Anglia on a small bike . Why use a small bike i hear you say? well because it`s a challenge and a lot cheaper than using my ZXR and i dont trust my XS400 yet plus i am unemployed so i need to keep costs down. i have been reading up on this and some people have done some impressive tours on little bikes, like Lands End to John O`Groats or to spain and back!! I am going to start off small, ie 100 mile overnighters and see how it goes? if things go well i will then start to branch out into bigger tours that are further away from my home. i`ve been looking for weeks for a …

For the first time in a long time, I am no longer a Yamaha owner I've just sold my beloved XVS650 Classic to a very nice chap who seems to adore it, so it's off to a good home. I have bought another bike, it's just not a Yamaha.......It's a HARLEY DAVIDSON Baby! Whadya reckon to this....... HARLEY F$%KIN' DAVIDSON BABY!!!!!! So I guess the question is.......as a non Yamaha owner, am I still welcome in the Yamaha owners club?

  5. Hi just a small quirey, Looking to upgrade from my YBR125, i want i big'ish bike around 600cc and i have seen that honda have released a new modle this month the NC700X, its basicaly got a honda jazz engine cut in half in it and will only rev to 6500rpm at the start of the redline its claimed that its 0-75mph is faster than the cbf600 aswell, the suprising thing is it will do a stagering 78.8 to the gallon (4.55L), just wanting to know if yamaha have anything thats MPG is close to that which isnt a small capacity bike, i would prefere to upgrade to another yam as my YBR is so bloody reliable, and i havnt had much experiance with honda bikes however i am aware that t…

The headlight on my 1972 G7S was burned out when I bought it. It's a sealed beam lamp and the part is no longer available. A guy at NW Vintage Cycle Parts said people are using the headlight from a 1968 YG5T. My original headlight is a 6V/15W and the replacement is a 12V/25W. Is that going to cause problems? Also, when I checked my battery I found a clear tube in the battery compartment. The tube is not hooked up to anything. It was just threaded through the compartment. I haven't found any mention of it in either the rider's manual or the Clymer manual. Does anyone here know what it might be? Thanks!

  7. hey guys, first of all hope your all having a good christmas, but more to the point my Yamaha TZR 50 03 plate will not start at all, it had the same problemb a couple days ago it cut out and wouldnt start so i checked the voltage and everything was as it should be, then i bumped it and it worked, the next day i was riding back from work and it stalled on me as i was taking a turn, so i tried to bump it again and noting, checked the tank it was empty, so i filled up and left it over night in my shed, then morning came and absolutly nothing, i know the starter motor is gone so no electric start but it still should bump but no luck. recently fitted: New Spark Plug New…

After getting my bike back after 2 weeks I was pretty happy, its running a lot better and apart from the bulb holder breaking it was ok, until this afternoon. I was doing 55 mph on a by pass the road was busy and the wheel bearings went!!! I swear to God it just happened in an instant, the back wheel started bouncing all over and so did the bike. It was pretty scary and thank God I managed to control the bike, for a few seconds I thought I was coming off and I braced myself. Anyway got to a safe place and phoned the garage up who had just replaced the bearings and all the other £350 worth of work. They come out pretty quick and when he looked at it, he said the carrier be…

Now my bike is back on the road and mechanically sound I think we should have a little competition for a bit of fun. All you have to do is try and predict the next thing to get 'grouched'. It could take days or even months for something to happen so get guessing.

At a family do the other day the four bikers that were there got into heated debate, are loud pipes better than quiet pipes, my brother in law a rather conservative accountant who rides in London daily thinks load pipes just piss off car drivers, my son who rides a HD and myself a lover of big v twins think that loud pipes let cars know that your there, after all how many car drivers say " sorry I didn't see you" but unless they are deaf as well as blind with load pipes they at least know a bike is around. The fouth person in the debate said " I want to be heard its safer. Just wondered what you guys thought.

Hope no one minds but I'm really, over the moon today - it's a perfect day. I had my employment tribunal pre-hearing today. My case has gone from no-hope to good chance, back to a no-hoper and then today, right back in the fight. The Judge (a total goddess - but blonde ) sent everything my way and really burned Telewest out - to the point that even at this pre-hearing their application for costs (£1200 for the morning) was denied which is very unusual I am told. The poo was hitting them so fast that they have asked for the case to be adjourned so that they can prepare further case notes and evidence in their defence. Round 2 is on the 4th of February but…
