Hey lads, My Virago 535 doesn't do more then 100 km/h ( at it is an exact thing, always shots down at this speed) I was suspecting an exhaust restriction but there is nothing in the pipes. I have cleaned the carb and the jets are good size i think. My only other guess is the cdi ignition box ( I think air filter is standard as well) Does anyone know what part number might be printed on a restricted cdi box? If any at all? If the numbers printed actually does not tell about restriction then is there any test to find out whether this is causing the cut off at 100km/h or might be something else ( I can't think of anything else any more but any suggestion is we…

  3. Hi all, I have the bike listed above which has the exhaust underneath the bike instead of on the side, but to me it sounds too quiet and a little bit boring! I want to know what I can do to the bike to give it a little bit of growl and louder than my hoover (which is quiet)! I have to bear in mind that it has a throttle restriction to 33bhp, which also includes a restriction in the exhaust too I believe?

Hi there, I'm trying to find some black wheels for the dragstar 125, I've seen pics of them on bigger models, mainly in Australia, but want a pair for a project I'm about to start and was wondering if any one could point me in the right direction please, thanks.

Ok I admit it, it was me, I noticed a strange clunk when out the other day and it only happened when I leaned into a corner, didn't think to much about it but I was getting worse all the time and giving some odd handling, sort of rolled into the corner and then flopped over a couple of inches half way through, bit scary actually, so was checking the oil and happened to look up under the handle bars and would you believe it NO BOLTS IN THE TOP of the head stock!!!!!! Both bolts gone AWOL and of course the forks were wobbling about all over the place, a lot of swearing later about useless bloody Japanese crap when it occurred to me that I had not checked the bike out over t…

Basingstoke council have started resurfacing some of the roads in and around the town. One of them is a road I have to take to work every morning. Going along this stretch of road this morning doing bugger all mph cos the road's covered with 'loose shit', along with all the other rush hour traffic, a bastard in a white van comes along overtaking everyone at 60mph shot blasting all the other traffic with said loose shit. Got to work and just about to put the lock on the Beast when I noticed a chip in the tank paintwork that I only sprayed two weeks ago. If I could have got my hands on him I'd be doing time now. Plain white van so no company to complain to …

Got some biker jeans today. Went to longsight in smelly manchester. To the guys house so that I could try b4 I buy.. He was an Indian ,not one of those with feathers one of the other ones. Anyway he was a dead good man. He told me were the gear comes from and why its re-badged and all sorts They are really good quality and theirs More Kevlar in than a lot of others I looked at. He has a few different styles in stock but I went for the plain front type as I cant abide the stitched knee cap ones. Armour knee pads and hip protection is included . All for 37 pounds. He isn't a mate and im not getting any commission for advertising him. But if your looking for so…

Well i picked up this little twist a go last night, the guy (well little boy) i got it off of was a bit of a cock, 18 yrs old but going on 28 in a street gang type! but kept every thing civil. Took me out to his back garden pointed and said its over there and went to walk back in, but i said i wanted him to tell me about it etc etc. Any way after getting it in the car and having a quick look over it while taking it through the house i gets it home to the cave for a much better looking over. I have bits and bobs in tins and ice cream tubs (with rain water) engines not siezed but im taking the head off tonight to see if the piston has punched its way throught the to…

Hey all. This is going to sound like such a strange question to say the least, so bare with me if I sound totally boneidol Do you think a YBR can be driven up a couple of shallow stairs? The reason I'm asking this is because I have no garage or diveway, so I need to keep the bike at the side of my house. Once it's through the gate, I haven't got a problem. But.. My side of the street is raised up above the road slightly (I tried to upload a picture from google street view but I can't get it to work). There is a small grassy slope, and then 2 steps from the road in front of everyone's gate. The steps are a few inches in height each, there are 2 steps and it's about 3…

Hello everybody! I have recently passed my test, got myself a brand new XJ-600 Diversion S (Half faired) and I admire the bike so much…. But the thing is i'm not happy with the appearance completely. I want to do some changes to the bike, wether its subtle or not I cannot decide! So far I have put white reflective tape around the tire rim and considering tail tidy, getting a new exhaust & decals. Not sure what I want if i'm totally honest but I thought i'd bring it to the forum and see if there are any ideas that you guys have tried & have come out looking great! Any ideas please post back! Hey everyone, sorry to mods if this is in the wrong section, I am after some advice regarding security lights, there have been a few thefts of bikes around my area & I want to make sure that mine has a deterant if nothing else, I have it on paddoc stands with chains around the wheels & stands, and locks everywhere possible, but I feel a light would also set my mind at ease. Has anyone fitted any that they would recommend.? Thanks for any help Shaun

Grand Prix 500: The Rainey Days Tomorrow 24th april on ITV4 from 9:00pm to 10:00pm Sports documentary follow up programme in the Unrideables series this time focusing on the story of US motorcycling hero Wayne Rainey who dominated the sport in the 1980s and early 90s. Rainey at this time was locked into a weekly two-wheel stuggle in the world championship with rivals Eddie Lawson and Michael Doohan, but it was gangly Texan Kevin Schwantz who was his main rival. The film includes incredible footage of those heady days, and the men involved talk candidly about their amazement at some of the things they did on the track, and about the price they sometimes had to pay…

hi, i now have a 2006 ybr 125, carb moddle bike, the engines had it, popping spluttering on and down on compression and it sounds like a bag of hammers, now i can change the engine like for like, but i can get the newer injector engine with alot less miles. now i know my bike cant take it injector, but what if i took the injector manifold off put the carb one on and changed the ignition pick up, along with the stator plate would that work? as the engines are identical in side and out, the only differences are the injector thanks

  18. Just after a bit of advice, Just picked up a Yamaha 1100 dragstar, its pretty standard apart from the exhaust and lots of chrome. It seems to be running fine, its a 2005 with only 12k on the clocks. . . . one owner since new. when I crack the throttle open in a low gear, the engine note seems to change and the clutch appears to slip a little, the speedo rises, but after a few seconds of the bike roaring, the engine noise will subside and it will start to accelerate a little more aggressive than usual. standard test - like put the bike in top gear when rolling at 5mph doesn't seem to make it any worse or better, it still seems to slip and hesitate before pulling …
