The continuous insurance enforcement scheme will provide a new fixed penalty for people who ignore official reminders that their insurance has expired. This will apply to vehicles that are not declared as being off the road through SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification) and not insured. Continuing offenders will risk having their vehicle seized and destroyed. Where a motor vehicle isn't used on a road or other public place, there’s no requirement to purchase insurance cover for 'on road risk' as long as a SORN declaration has been made. The continuous insurance enforcement scheme is expected to come into force during 2011. more information http://www.direct.gov.uk/e…

following on from a few topics on here, and on a couple of other forums i am on, i am going to start a ''ARE YOU WILLING TO HELP'' thread. i have read a few topics about people needing things done to their vehicle but due to the owners lack of ability or knowledge or confidence then they have either put the work off and made it worse or sent it to a garage to get the work done. for example one of the guys on a off roading forum i am on wanted to fit a lift kit to his car, springs, spacers, new shocks. i have done it and he is only a few miles away, he was quoted just shy of £400 to get it fitted. after some discussion i said i was happy to help him fit it if he came…

  8. Hi All Wondering if anyone can offer any suggestions re. a problem I'm having with my SR125? Out riding the other day I noticed that the indicators are acting odd. Sometimes there's a delay before they come on when the switch is pressed, and sometimes they start as normal but have odd pauses between the flashes every so often. All seems to work normally with just the electrics turned on, but with the engine running, even just standing in the garage, the odd random pausing starts again. I've checked the battery has plenty of charge, tried a new indicator relay and I've found nothing loose in the wiring (but haven't yet managed to trace the earth wire back into the …

  9. {{if $formValue}} {$value} {{endif}} Like a disgruntled polar bear, I returned home from a ride yesterday, my fingers numbed from the icy wind. That’s when these saviours clad in dust and spiderwebs caught my attention. I set about installing them on my loyal steed, the MT09, faster than you can say "frostbite". Now, I had been told that the Whites grips were akin to holding on to the molten core of the Earth itself. "Nonsense," I scoffed. Imagine my surprise when they turned out to be as warm as a hearty handshake from a Yeti. No clunky control box in sight, either! And let's not forget the built-in off switch for low battery situations, which I thought was a n…

Greetings. I hope someone out there can assist. Does anyone have the gear ratios for the YZF750R 6-speed transmission? I actually have two YZF1000R engines, one with the standard 5-speed, the other with the 6-speed from the YZF750R. While I'm looking for the ratios for all gears, the final gear (6th) is the most important as I am trying to calculate top speed when using different gearing combinations on the rear end, and without the gear ratio data I am stuck. Thanks very much in advance for the assist. John

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has converted a pre-1999 SR125 (mines a 1998) to the post 1999 chrome speedo, which I think looks much better? Have been doing some research into it and from what I can see from the schematics, the top steering yolk looks completely different between the two models. Not sure the '99 ver will fit my '98. Has anyone done this, is it possible? Many thanks, Clive

Good Evening. I got my 1964 YA6 running and on the road. I can't seem to be able to stop air in the tube. I rebuilt the pump. New seals etc. Bled the pump. When the bike is running if open up the oil pump and slightly open the throttle I can get oil pumping through with no visible bubbles / gaps. If I let it idle it will eventually start to show air gaps etc. Any thoughts would appreciated, cheers
