New rider from Manchester
There is indeed a few of us in that strange place of Manchester [and Salford] Welcome!

For the newbies
The 'here' was in reference to the Wanted forums. Lallasro is a non-native English speaker, so sometimes gets the grammar a bit wrong.

Cannot respond on a thread
Ah, good to know - wasn't aware of that one your point? I'm a geek and proud. it doesn't fit on my bike. Besides, I'm a good boy, and never do 88mph *cough*

It looks like it could be the source location for the ckeditor.js files that are causing problems. the script tag shows src="//yamahaclub.com/forums/applications/core/interface/ckeditor/ckeditor/ckeditor.js" No protocol is listed, so it's likely defaulting to http:// - that'll need fixed to https:// I believe - it means that a secure site requires unsecure content to run. This is affecting all of the scripts for the CKEdiotor

Heavy Duty bike cover
And make sure you don't get a dormex by mistake. They ain't waterproof, and in the rain it gets *wetter* underneath them. [no-one I know did that... honest]

Coming soon, to a TV near you?
I always feel bad about it, but I realised that I prefer solo rides. Whenever I've been out with others, I tend to focus too much on them and stop riding for myself. [and paying attention to the road properly] I'm a selfish bugger... Unfortunately not. My birthday's around then, and I've got a night out on the Saturday, where I shall be getting shitfaced. He showed me the brake lever. The hole for the cable had effectively become a razor edge, causing the the cable to fray and eventually snap. He was trying to beat the amber [he was pelting it along due to being late for a meeting], and was using the taxi as a guide on whether he had enough time. At the last moment he realised it had jumped the red. Slammed on his brake, and it failed. With no knowledge of what was behind him, and peds filling the pavement beside him, he had nowhere to go.

Ah, but you've already had the privilege of meeting me face to face! ...Or should that be the misery? (:

Coming soon, to a TV near you?
I've been commenting occasionally - never left - just not often (: It'll be on ITV in ~6 months, they say. An episode of Caught on Camera. We joked about how many bikers see cyclists as "just needing to see the light", and how cyclists see us as also "just needing to see the light" Also going on about the common dangers we have on the road. That sort of thing

Coming soon, to a TV near you?
Had the interview today, and actually met the cyclist. He's quite a nice fellow actually. Had a bit of a joke with him, regarding motorists generally trying to kill us all. But, in about 6 months, you'll likely get to see my ugly mug on the TV!

Coming soon, to a TV near you?
Remember my cyclist video? I had ITN contact me recently asking to use it. Sure, says I, as long as you preface it with the story as I know it, rather than present it just as a cyclist running a red. OK, says them. Flash forward. *Briiiiiing briiiiing* "Hello...?" "Hi! ITN here, we wanna actually interview you for the TV show" Eep.

So, the scores on the doors were?

YBR125 replacement clutch
How do you mean disintegrate? Has the cable perhaps become worn/stretched, and that just needs replaced?

Airhead you lucky bugger..
I've yet to actually try Woodhead - I pretty much stick to Snake Pass or the Chapel-en-le-Frith route [via Castleton for that epic downhill - does that route have a name?] if I'm heading out Sheff' way. I just hate how long it takes to get out Manchester. Drewp - what's your preferred route for getting out?

Mobius cam
I feel all posh now, with my camera... But I am a motovlogging weirdo, so all is good (:

theory test
Same - I learnt them for the tests, then forgot them. 2 second rule is far more useful, as well as sitting a little to one side to give me some swerve space.

theory test
As far as the tests are concerned, there's only 1 stopping distance set. I passed my car test before the theory was introduced [by a few months]. Back then, it was the "here's a few [literally] questions once we've returned to the test centre". I was asked the questions, and pretty much burst out laughing - they were the exact same small set that my instructor had tested me on before we'd went in. This was also my third attempt, so I wondered if he'd bribed the examiner. As for the modern theory test, about 60-70% of the questions are common sense. "What should you do if someone cuts you off?" a ) Overtake at the next opportunity and then cut them off; b ) Accelerate right up to them and be six inches off of their rear bumber; c ) Drop back slightly to increase the distance between you; d ) shout and scream at them while blaring the horn that's not an actual question, but not far off some of them...

Ducati goes squish
Overall, yeah. It was a whole host of variables that led to the biker becoming completely invisible. Even one changing would have made him visible to the driver
-
Ducati goes squish
Could this situation have been avoided? Yup, if the driver stopped for a few seconds before turning. There is zero slowing down from him. If they biker had been turning left, and was positioned more over that side, it'd be a lot worse. But then, would he have been more visible to the driver?

Ducati goes squish
biker was in the guy's mirror caused blind spot for the entire video. But the guy didn't even stop to properly check if it was clear

Ducati goes squish
The guy'll lose his job over it. Companies with trucks are ruthless to their staff in regards to insurance [at least according to my trucker dad] I think you hear him say 'sorry' as he jumps out the truck. But he doesn't even slow down when approaching the corner; he just goes for it The lady hugging the guy was cute.

Big bike time!
For the most part, I love it. Easy to throw around, and has all the acceleration I've ever needed so far - I can hit 70 by the end of a dual carriageway park/stop area [approximately]. I've only actually had to open the throttle fully about twice in the time I've had it. Both to get up to 70mph fast while merging on to a motorway/dualcarriageway But long distance, it's not kind to my ass. But that's more a personal discomfort thing, I believe - I know there are others who find it find for many hundred miles. I remember the first time I got my bike [I posted a video of it here back in February], where you can see the different emotions I go through while taking it for its first spin. It honestly doesn't take long to get to the extra power, and when you go back to a 125, it's underwhelming...

Big bike time!
I'd still be tempted to get that 1 year no claims. Mainly because, it may only be £40 difference with the RAC, but how does it affect the cost with other insurers? Then, instead of the premium number, search through http://www.saynoto0870.com/ to see if you can find a local number for it.

My poor butt...
I happily admit t being a big girl's blouse. Sparkford is a wee bit of a jaunt to get a seat sorted. Hell, I'd need it then and there if I did that ride. .. and that doesn't sound dodgy in the slightest
