I have a yzf750 parts manual on cd if any good to you. Its an adobe acrobat document, and I could zip to around 3 meg, and mail it to you if you wish? I got it off ebay. Never had to use it yet, but its handy having all the diagrams and part numbers just in case!!

............cool or not? I am thinking of getting one, and colouring the "metzeler meZ3" bit on the tyre white, as it seems to be coming back into fashion. Does anyone do it, done it, or thinking of doing it? Don't fancy doing it, then realising that I look like a complete teapot!

I raised my rear, with a washer on top of the shock. The image below is before, and the other one is after. http://silverwing.bikepics.com/yamaha-yzf7...pics-138998.jpg http://silverwing.bikepics.com/yamaha-yzf7...pics-138999.jpg 1995 on bikes, came with an Ohlins shock as standard.

You would have to re jet, and you would lose a whole load of mid range power. Wouldnt be the best at pulling away from the lights etc either. Its there for a reason, so I would only change it if you are constantly at the top of the rev range.

Yep, baking sunshine here in Carlisle. As soon as you got 9 miles further north to Gretna, it starts to snow!! Whats all that about?

Morning or afternoon? I might just run down myself!! (actually by myself as nobody else is going out this weekend) Meant to ask, what do you ride?

Yep, the bike was covered with bugs when I got home. I put some stuff on, bug off I think its called. But made the mistake of answering the phone after I sprayed it on. Cam off the plastics ok, but I had oversprayed on to all the clocks, wires, so now it looks like someone has been at it with some rubbing compound and a buffer!! Kirkstone Pass is my favourite, from Ambleside, over Kirkston Pass, around lake ullswater to Penrith.

Yep, underseat exhausts is the way to go! Been up to Garlieston before, delivering a shower! I presume that isnt too far away from you? Plenty of offroading to do, with your DT!!

Thanks m8. I thought that too, but there were a couple of R1's, and GSXR's at Devils Bridge today. When they are standing side by side mine doesnt half look dated! Where in SW Scotland are you?

Actually the cars spoiled it a bit to be honest. Packed. There are a lot of VERY sharp corners with NO signs, so if anybody is up here, just take care. Oh.....there are a lot of cliff type drops too! Very scenic butn not a place to come scratchin!!

I managed to get out for a few hours, did a tour of the lakes, and then on to Devils Bridge. Chucking it down at Devils Bridge, but glorious sunshine in the lakes. Lake district.....best place to ride a bike......here are a few pics.

Do you use GT85 for lubing your chain? Do Halfords sell it?

My wife has been saying a lot lately, that I am obsessed with my bike (well anything to do with bikes really). Every opportunity, I am out on it. As soon as I get home I am washing it. And not just a quick flick with a sponge....its the full on clean. I even find myself taking it out of the shed, just so I can look at the darn thing out of the kitchen window as I wash the dishes! I suppose she doesn't know what it feels like to ride a bike, the front end rising as you open the throttle, the sweeping left and right hand bends, the sheer delight as you filter through all the traffic! Look....I am at it again....I am thinking of going out! 8) Is it just me? Or is everyone like that? Also, I have spoken to a few people, who say they gave up biking when they had a child, being more responsible etc. I couldn't do it! I have a 15 month old daughter, and I never felt like that! Normal? Anyway, I feel better that its off my chest!

Yep, there are some suberb roads in the Lakes, Kirkstone Pass my fave. But you cant beat the good old A686 Hartside run!

Next time you are up, gimmie a shout, and I could make the relatively short trip down.

In my youth (single), I used to always own rear wheel drive cars, and I also felt more confident power sliding left, same on Moto X bikes. Then again, all my mates used to say I rode my skateboard wrong. I used to push with my left foot, with my right to the rear of the board, then swivel, and put my left to the front!

I don't ride any where near fast enough to get my knee down without trying. I get my left knee down fine, but its the right one I struggle with (can still get it down if I hang off enough). I always have a chicken strip on the right side of my rear tyre, but none on the left. I think I am conscious of turning in to far on right handers and maybe straying into the opposite lane. Put some shumagic on (black boot polish), and good as new. My leathers are a RST Dark all black, so black polish works ok.

No, right leg, but just on the open road. Nearly draged me off the bike. Quite a shock! Slowed me down a bit, which wasnt a bad thing.

literally!! Knee slider missed for some reason, and hit my knee....ouch! (nothing to do with my positioning of course)! A nice mark on my leathers now.
