Never been a smoker, but I gave up rugby two years ago and have been 'resting'* ever since. My mate has asked me to take part in a triathlon** at the end of August and I'm giving it serious consideration * resting has included storing about 1st of fat around my gut ** not a full one 1/2mile swim 3 mile run, and 10 mile cycle Need to make my mind up pdq so I can get started with training

I've got a Triumph Bonneville, a Triumph Speedtwin and a CanAm Bombardier. The Bonnie is Taxed and Insured The Speedtwin is insured but not on the road, and The Bombardier is in a pile of big bits. The plan with the Bombardier is to get it running so my boy can use it next winter to keep his Virago (my tenuous link to the YOC since I sold my xjr) in good nick

So me, sarah, my eldest son and his pal set off for Inveraray, stopping at the Rest and Be Thankful Then onto Inverary for fish and chips and home where I had a few beers and a fire oh and an Axe and finally (thank fek you say), check on the birthday girl who is fast asleep See Bips, you're not the only Triumph Gal on t'forum

The only bike I've not regretted selling is my first road bike, an XS250CW, sorry drewps, but it was the biggest piece of shit I've ever had the displeasure to own (although in fairness, it got me through my test) In 32 years of biking heres my list 1981 - 1982 Yamaha xs250 1982 - 1983 H***a cb400/4 1983 - 1989 Triumph T140D (Stolen, or else I would still own it) 1989 - 2001 Yamaha xs1100 2000 - 2005 Triumph Legend 2004 - 2011 Triumph T140D 2005 - present Can - Am Bombardier 2010 - 2012 Yamaha xjr1200 2012 - present Triumph Speedtwin 2012 - present Triumph Bonneville so thats 10 bikes in 32 years equalling 3.2 years average, which is surprising cos I have always seen myself as a long term owner so just goes to show that stats mean fuck all (pardon the language). Looking again, apart from the 4/4 and Can Am, I'm deffo a Triumph / Yam kinna bloke
  13. jimmy replied to bippo's post in a topic in The Bar
Yeeeeaaaa Go Girl I know its a Yam forum, but a nice Triumph Bonneville, old or new model, would suit you down to the ground. Fast enough to enjoy yourself, a great seating position and did I mention they look bluddy fantastic

I'm 49 and have had a full licence since I was 17. I have never been without a working bike (well 3 years ago the crank broke on my 79Bonnie, and it took me 3 months to get another bike on the road). I dont do as much mileage on the bikes as I used to tho, although when out on the bike I still get the same buzz as I did as a fresh faced ute

Well done mate, as already said, onwards and upwards
  17. Sorry mate, I got confused, I thought you said you came from Hungary. Anyway, my boys bike is restricted at the carbs, exactly as merv says. Maybe whoever done your bike got carried away a bit and restricted it beyond 33bhp. I dont think you can actually restrict it from the CDI
  18. Gabor In the UK, there is a licence restriction for younger riders having to limit their bikes to 33bhp. Granted this would allow a lot more the 60mph (100kpm), but are there similar laws in Hungary, or has your bike been imported from a Country that has a similar restriction ( I know you have issues confiming your bikes true identity). Best of luck with this mate
  19. i'm kinna at odds with this. My wife drives a VW Beetle and a wee while ago summit was wrong with it. I couldn't find the answer in the manual, so I went on a VW forum. Now looking through it, it wasn't the type of messageboard that interested me, actually no car forum interests me, but they may have had the answer I needed, so on I went, gave an intro then posted my question. I got a few replies, thanked them, and never returned. I'm probably in the wrong, but needed an answer to a problem I had, but otherwise had no interest in cars. I don't think I'm a messageboard slut, but reading this back, who knows

Yip, there they're there, bottom left. You can also preprogram them with a message, such as "Police Stop". My mate loaded it with an AC/DC song and battered down the clyde with "Hells Bells" blaring. The gaffers weren't happy but he got away with it as we were just testing it out at the time.

Cheers Tommy, but dont envy me mate, we only get about 3 good days a year up here, the rest of the time its frigging pissing wet and frozen
  23. jimmy posted a post in a topic in General
Well it was a nice day up here, so I took the bike to work, 1200hrs start as opposed to the usual 0600hrs. Then into work, chained to a desk And finally the trip home, 2000hrs instead of 1800hrs Then got told to Moooove along......sorry
  24. Ok mate The V5c is the UK Registration document, so does not apply to you. Contact Yamaha Hungary then. My manual shows this example 3BTC (2YL-027101)

Free resits, thats what the other school instructors said, so it just backed up my theory that the £80 offer was a con. Thats probably why I snapped at him, I'm usually quite laid back
