mate of mine has a bandit 400 even when they are restricted they go like shit off a shovel well heavy though i sat on it bloody thing is a weight. he has a great laugh on it but the restrictor doesnt do it any favours, it can be a bastard to start sometimes....mind you i think he bought it for like 1700....

man id kill to be there!! even with my DT it looks bliss!! best i get is the box hill run which is pretty cool but that just looks like a bikers delight! nice one--and bloody nice bike!!

when i was buying the DT-my first yammie and first real bike- b4 had a moped... it was that or the bus, the kwaks were cheap second hand but jesus do they blow up-sound crap+look crap. as do the DR125's and with added bonus of being slow ass 4stroker... the DT is the owner of the 125 class!! silly racer boys might go for the RS or NSR but it sucks to be them...and they probably wouldnt be able to handle the power! for my next bike i am tempted by the suzuki as people say that the DR400 is the labs nads... but honda for reliability, of course WR is the best of its class but also the most expensive.... yamaha-you pay for quality. and i bloody love Yamaha Blue!!

cool, shouldnt be too hard :? although i am slightly worried about changing the throttle grips over...where the hell do i start!? the renthals are more or less the same dimensions as the DT bars i believe.... but how do i get the throttle grip off and back on again??? does it all slide off when you undo the bolts?? fogive my naivety on the subject i still got a lot to learn dammit!!

not that this relates to the topic but i hardly thought it nessessary to start a new one just for one question!! its easy to fit a DT with renthals isnt it???just a couple of bolts n stuff i need to and they are actually pretty cheap to buy without the labour thought it would make a nice afternoon job. my bars are pants and scratched etc and need the renthals on there, was just wondering if its as easy as it seems thanks guys

lamba motorcycles in carshalton, surrey are good for dealing with DT's- yamaha dealer and pretty friendly.

dammit i wanna ride a 4 stroke!! 2 strokes are nice but a lil too jumpy and hard to keep the the 30 limit ....well at least thats what i tell myself...

yeah clean it or buy new one they need a clean every 10 k from my experience but i might be wrong. DT's always smoke when starting up mine is a bugger and the neighbours hate me ! as long as it stops smoking when its warmed up... but if you want to spoil yourself get a DEP full system lets the engine breathe a helluva lot more but not sure you might need to rejet=i didnt for some reason as mines an import.you might be so lucky too... :roll:

not that i have been here for long but welcome anyway ! fellow DT dude! DT's are excellent! congrats. 20 k mileage...wonder if its had an engine rebuild yet..? its a 1990 so you have the old CDI in it wooohoooo fast there might be some carbon build up in your exhaust port sorta thing i remember it happened to me really does choke up the engine....and makes it a bugga to start... :shock: hang one....push start.....is that...a.. leccy start?????? :shock: if you have that you are a lucky man indeed.
