Haha reminds me of a vid I saw ages ago and really liked. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mg1qd570gq4 And check out what else I found. Gotta read the comment underneath it and it'll make more sense. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=NiSQ6-1qn1g&...feature=related

Welcome to YOC. You ever get up to the Ace Cafe at all?
  3. Need to make sure you've got the correct clutch springs, rollers and jets.

My Akrapovic goes through an MOT with no hassle at all even if it did seem louder than usual on the day. Getting through on a stubby would be trickier and I decided not to risk it. Changing the pipes over doesn't take long so it might be worth just checking with the tester and swapping it for the MOT if it's too loud.
  5. Nope, go enjoy unrestricted entitlement on whatever bike you want.

Probably benefit from rejetting the carbs but it's not critical. I've got a custom race can on my bike and not bothered fiddling with the carbs.
  7. Earth it anywhere metal. Frame would be a good spot if you can find somewhere.

Haha you'll notice I use that quite a lot out of habit. Until I looked at this I didn't even know you had an R6. How long have you had that then?

Lol the wink icon looks crap doesn't it Presumably you're the same Gav2k from 125ccSB so I thought I'd say hi.
  10. There's word of a green wire behind the clock surround which needs earthing. Think that could be what he means.

    Howdy Gav
  12. Usually people get the stock hubs replaced onto 17" Excel rims. If it's purely grip you're after then try the Avon Distanzia tyres before you go to the trouble of getting your wheels rebuilt. Mine handled very well on these.

    Whereabouts are you based?
  14. Rain-X for me all the way. Tried everything else and nothing else worked very well.
  15. Fair play. Not done it myself, just going on what I've heard.

When we get some nice weather I'll be well up for a ride. This crap weather is giving me chicken strips
  17. It was supposed to be a happy time, but it wasn't. Santa was really pissed. It was Christmas Eve and NOTHING was going right. Mrs. Claus had burned all the Christmas cookies. The Elves were bitching about not getting paid for the overtime they had put in while making toys, and the reindeer had been drinking all afternoon and were dead drunk. They had taken the sleigh out for a spin earlier in the day and crashed it into a tree, breaking off one of the runners. Santa was beside himself with anger. "I CAN'T believe it! I've got to deliver millions of presents all over the world in just a few hours from now and all my reindeer are drunk, my Elves are on strike and I don't even have a Christmas tree! I sent that stupid Little Angel out HOURS a go to find a tree and she isn't even back yet! What am I going to do?" Just then the Little Angel opened the front door and stepped in from the snowy night, dragging a Christmas tree. He says: "Hey fatass, where do you want me to stick the Christmas Tree this year???" And thus the tradition of Angels perched atop the Christmas trees came to pass. . . . .
  18. Try upgrading the bulb from a 60/55w to a 100/80w. Both come in H4 fitting so will fit the Cat and I've heard there is a definite improvement.
  19. ^^This is probably the only useful post in this thread.
  20. Paragraphs next time please. Main restriction on a DT is the exhaust which you have quite rightly replaced with a DEP. The powervalve does not need any alteration unless it has come out of alignment. The airbox will have a rubber intake snorkel which you will find located under the seat. This can be removed with a quick pull and then that's another restriction out of the way. You'll need to rejet at this point so strip the float bowl off your carb and note your main jet size. Go up two sizes to start with and work around that. Regardless of what you may hear, fitting a pre 1991 CDI unit wont really do anything for you and you'll probably just end up with a useless loom after you've chopped it around trying to fit the older unit.
  21. I bought mine with an Akrapovic slip-on fitted. I've currently got a Venom Stubby fitted and it goes pretty well and is loud enough to wake the dead. Rejetting is necessary to get the most from any exhaust but you should see a fair improvement even without altering the mixture.
  22. Performance bikes do get quite warm. Your exhaust wont fall off so I wouldn't worry about it, just don't leave it sitting around for so long.
  23. If you've got someone who can weld it back up for you then I'd give it a go. Whilst it's open it might be worth trying to repack it with proper wadding and basically just remove anything that would slow down the gas flow. Running might change a bit but it wont be any less ridable.
