Good good As I said, if you ride responsibly and don't give the fuzz a reason to pull you over then you should be fine. I've only been pulled over once on my Cat and that was for showboating in the middle of town on a Friday Night.

I was in this boat a while back. Passed my test at 18, bought a Cat at 19. Like hell did I restrict it IF you can ride responsibly and you haven't put a tiny number plate on you should be alright.

Well it's not a Yam but by all means a good learner bike. Because I haven't yet ridden the R125 I can't give a comparison but the CBR was very user friendly and forgiving to ride.
  4. Correct. When I did this I actually drilled another six holes in the side fo the airbox which semed to help with initial throttle response. The jetting will be different for the different models so you'll need to take out your main jet and note the size so you can jet the carb accordingly. As a general rule, I go up two sizes which on my bike would have made it a 260.

Here's what my exhaust sounds like.
  6. Wouldn't recommend it to be honest. Your best shot would be to remove the snorkel from the stock airbox which allows more air flow but not so much that it melts the piston.

Power figures for the DTR would be around 14hp as standard and tunable to around 20hp. Mine was putting out around the 20hp mark which was about as far as you can go with that engine before you run into reliability issues.

Pinning the powervalve fully open doesn't do a lot for your top end, you just lose a lot of bottom end and midrange grunt. If you want it to behave in a similar fashion to fully open but with some bottom end then try pinning the valve at around the halfway mark. This worked well in the short time I had it set like that. I personally prefer my powervalves fully working on the servo though.
  9. Check for loose bolts and moving parts. Could be your brake pads moving around in the calipers, could be more serious.

    Get yourself twin Akrapovics

Treat it with the respect it deserves and keep it nice and clean. Apart from that, enjoy it however you wish to.

Pretty sure I can fix this. Whereabouts are you based?

Do Wemoto even ship out to the States?
  15. A member of another forum I'm on got a set of Scorpion cans on his 05 and it sounded really good. Be worth looking into as they are a fair bit cheaper than the Akrapovic systems. Of course if an Akrapovic system is within your budget then get that instead.
  16. If you could get me some photos of it I'll have a better idea but I'd have thought around 1993.
  17. Some bozos damaged my drive unit when I had a front tyre fitted. It's just two metal prongs which apparently bend easily and stop turning the drive unit. They sorted out the problem after I went back three times and the next time I had tyres done I took the wheels off myself and didn't have any problems with it whatsoever. Might be worth looking into.

Get it down to me and I'll find your problem, or at least point you in the right direction.
  19. How exactly does fitting parts off the 200 help? Or did you mean the whole engine?

It did require new holes which I got the shop to drill for me. It looked alright with the 99-02 mudguard but it did seem a bit straight. The 04 ones droop down more at the front and they might look better but I didn't get one to try. Something ot note when fitting the KTM mudguard is that you will need some spacers to lower it as the wiring loom passes under the bottom yoke and if the guard is mounted at the wrong angle it will foul on the frame.
  21. That'll be an R model. The last LCs were made in 88 and the transition to the R from 89 onwards.

They are indeed easy to ride and carry out basic maintenance on but I must say that changing the sidelight bulb was not pleasant.
  23. If your budget can stretch that far, definitely consider the Akrapovic. They're not ridiculously loud but the tone of sound they make is more or less perfect. You hear all these Microns and the like and they sound pretty similar to rolling on your side over a cardboard box.

    Eh?
  25. I would certainly replace the plug to rule that out. Other things it could be are water in a connector somewhere, excessively worn top end or fueling issues.
