  1. Tis true, it is not a for sale item though. I could put it up in the classifieds on here right now if I wanted to sell it but it is holding one of my Trusty RD's together at the moment. When I have taken it out of the frame and I am ready to sell it, it will either go on Fleabay or on the ACRD site as a for sale item. Too good to split. I really have an issue with parting out a good engine.
  2. I'm not going to split the engine, just possibly take off the genny and covers. As previously mentioned, pop over to the AircooledRDClub. Lots of good info on there and many members sell parts. A few of us on here are on there as well. LINKY
  3. You need to start a new thread in the project section if this is going to get tecnical. C & D bottom ends will be the same. I have an almost complete C/D 250 engine. Well it is complete but I may may need some bits off it.

    Then and Now

Me in France in the '80's. My photos got left behind when I seperated.
  5. Size 3 doesn't help. I'll stick to my new one from Santa. Just need a black peak for it. The halcyon s are great. Smoked glass too!
  6. Good idea assuming; That any direct debit (it looks like continuous authority to take the cash) is stopped when you tell them. That a seller tells the DVLA after you have picked up a vehicle and driven/ridden home. That you do actually get the refund of non used tax. It would help if there was a phone app to tax the vehicle at the roadside using your phone. I dont think bike tax can be paid in monthly dd - well it wasnt included in previous infomation. Great if you drive a big car that you can budget for the tax monthly.
  7. Oh yes John. Lots of pics makes a good thread. I couldn't afford the sausages. I have flags on half of it already but am getting the guys to lay a 18 x 20 concrete slab and put up 7 fence panels and a handful of posts.
  8. A couple of weeks at this time of the year. The DVLA turned around both a new bike and a change of owner log books in 2 weeks each.
  9. Got a white bultaco and halgon goggles for squires. Great on the RD.
  10. I might pop into Gretna next week as I will be in that neck of the woods.
  11. I am going to start sorting the RD's out soon. One slow project and one tidy up RD project. One tidy TS project and a total rebuild on the YA-6. This thread will be RD's as the other bikes are already covered elsewhere. Before I start I need somewhere to work. I have filled my 8x6 shed and there is no room for me left to stand in it. This means I need a bigger shed. I have a space but it needs some groundworks doing. Groundworks booked to be done 15th ish April. Main shed brought and booked for W/C 21th April. The smaller, gardening stuff and storage shed, will wait until later. I went for a 16 x 10 for the main one . Stuff being ordered and already sitting in boxes. This includes a RD400 engine in my hallway that I have nowhere else to park at the moment. More later.
  12. No worries. I will leave the keys for the 3 road legal bikes under the FZ. The second RD will run and ride with a carb swap too (the working carbs are in the shed by the door). Only Foamy would be interested in the YA-6 at the moment .
  13. I am ordering these on Friday. Most of you have paid and would have received a PM from me saying I have received the payment. If you do not have a PM from me saying I have the money then you can assume that your payment is outstanding. If you have PM'ed me about paying then that is fine. If you want to drop out please let me know before Friday this week and if you want in please let me know before Thursday this week. I have almost enough in my paypal account to get the one way ticket to Barbados so thanks guys.
  14. I saw an older guy - even older than me - on a Fizzie in that condition riding around as I was going to work this morning. I gave him a nod. He had an open face helmet and googles too which looked cool. I'll need to get my open face helmet on soon, now spring is here.
  15. You would probably need a full front end and try and get it to fit at the yolk/triple tree part of the FZ6 frame. It was the swingarm that pushed me towards a FZ8. - mind you, the FZ8 forks are massive. Old style R1 forks and brakes I am let to believe.
  16. Hi and welcome to the forum. Great bikes.
  17. OK. Time to pay. I am sending out PM's to pay the £21 by Paypal. If you can't pay that way then please let me know. If you pay by Paypal please tick the "gift" box.
