  1. Probably a bad connection so it is shorting or your regulator isn't working and the speedo is taking the full magneto power.

I had a similar problem with the SV. I got a great one from German ebay for a song.

As per drewpys answer. The weather (heat) can mess with the master cylinder seals if they are on their way out. Had it once on a car in baking weather. No brakes. Not good kev.

Number 8 it is. Check that item 8 is not too loose. strip off item 15 It doesn't have to be really tight but and then you can get to item 8. You need a C spanner (people use a flat screwdriver and hammer but not recommended). Tighten up 8 until it is not stiff but not too loose. It squeezes the ball bearings which may have worn due to use or lack of grease. Personally I would change the head bearings. Taper ones are best if you can get them. if not, and you strip this down further, you will probably find that the ball bearings are in bad condition or even have some missing. Lots of grease around the ball bearings.
  8. I thought the video started off showing her after she had landed on her face.

yep. At the top of the frame neck there should be a large threaded ring that is normally tightened by a C spanner. It tightens up the head bearings when they start to wear. You may have to remove the large stem bolt and a cover to see it. It will be at the top of the part of yolk (triple tree) that goes through the frame.

Hi Dan. How old is the battery? If it is too old it may not be holding a charge. If it is just "hit and his" it sounds like a bad connection somewhere. Clicking normally means a relay. I would check and clean all the earths and terminals from the battery to the relay and then to the starter motor.
  11. Does anyone know any Yams that would have a 6 7/8 or 7" headlight - trails type - same distance between the ears? I am looking for something that looks like a DT complete unit if they are 7 inches for the Suzi. UK spec or at least MOT'able, 6 volts with a pilot light. I am not asking for a shed raid, just something that I can get as a pattern part. There is some stuff on evilbay, but nothing grabs me. Thanking you all very much.
  12. Gave up my London commute 5 years ago after about 30 years of the same. What used to get me were the cyclists just cutting out and the pedestrians with HUGE headphones on, crossing without looking.

We are used to getting out of tight spots. Brake shoes - rough and then clean the inner drum as described. Be careful to use a fluid that evapoates and does not lubricate. Wobble - although the head bearings aren't "rough or catchy", do they need just pinching up a bit? Forks - the springs go but change the oil just in case. It can't hurt. It looks fab.

It's a great feeling Jason. It's when they start shouting "faster"
  17. "I assume that means connect the red wire from the switch to a +ive that is only live when the ignition is on? I am pretty sure that this is exactly what I had tried." Thats how I read the instructions. You should have a perm +ve to the battery, a perm -ve to the battery and then the red to the +, Try wiring up the perm + & - and the lights. temporary connect the red to the +ve of the battery to see if it works.

Hi and welcome to the forum. It does look like the bike in the other thread. As for "what do do next", you can always put it in a crate and ship it to me
  19. Hi and welcome to the forum. You really need to post a decent "hello" here and then ask a question in one of the sections you can find at the bottom of the home page. That said, have you rejetted the carb?

Or a hosting package and FTP them.
  21. That can't be right. Blacks are -ve, white are +ve but you can't have a switch with one red wire on it! I have pulled up the instructions. red - feed from switched power all whites are +ve All blacks are -ve

  24. Check the way you have wired the relay. The relay is just an automatic switch. 2 circuits. The bike live wire in and out and the higher powered cables to the lights in and out positive only, normally.

I haven't see the forecast but it must be sunny all day; the road is full of Harley and power rangers today. Where we're they in January?
