  6. the backend is always the first to go when modding the xs, tracker, cafe or other. makes it easier to mount an alternative rear guard on. there's an article in Classic bike about tube bending

  9. tin can is fine, nice and tight out of all the washers I own. not one is the right size I've now changed my mind, If i have a washer in there, it could move when I change the wheel or something. I think I will make a new spacer 1mm longer. thanks for the offer

  14. got me bearings, but the spacer is 1mm too short between the bearings. anyone got a shim 1mm thick, 12mm I/D and 18mm O/D? cheers

  21. don't drill, weld through a nut and build it out, then you can undo it no problem. its all i ever do for snapped exhaust studs, works every time. IN fact it takes longer to get the welder out, than the job

    its not iplayer, thats BBC. Should be ok with ITV. I have TIVO so not tied to the TV anymore btw I already posted this last week, but no one took notice
  24. ....or it could be a vacuum tap and it has come off the manifold intake or on the tap itself. could also be that the diaphram has gone preventing operation in that mode
