  1. I would go ahead and replace the o ring on the needle jet. Very important to the engine running correctly. The part number for the o ring is 214-14147-00-00 Good luck.
  2. If you want to send me the carburator, I will set it up for you. I am in Georgia.
  3. Where are you located.
  4. You have bad crank seal allowing fuel to enter the ignition side. That is a lot of fuel in there as well. Probably not going to be good. The stator or the pulsar coil could be bad and then you have the charge coil and the lighting coil that could be damaged from the fuel. What year is you bike, I think I have a complete ignition for a 1986.
  5. Can you not rebuild the one you have, or is it missing.
  6. The correct sprockets for your bike in either 15T or 16T are still avaliable from Yamaha.
  7. Lets start here, do you have the old carburator slide, if you do you should have the correct jet needle.

Good luck with your Vintage Yamaha's they are great.
  12. Looking at your profile you have a couple of GT 80's. Why not try one of those carbs to help you isolate the problem.
  13. It I were working on this bike I would do a leakdown test to determine is there is an airleak in the engine. Then I would look real hard at the carburator again. If you had "junk" in the bottom of the bowl you have "junk" through out the carburator. I am really leaning towards carb issues here with your problems. You can soak you carb in Berrymans and it does a great job at dislodging particles in passages that you can't see.
  14. Tell me what you did to the engine.

    32:1, 4 ounces to 1 gallon.
  16. Why not just go to your local Yamaha dealer and get one. They may have to order but the part is still avaliable.
  17. You could put a 175 top end on it.
  18. You can get a new filter with cage from AMS Racing.

Start by having someone rebuild the carburator properly.
  20. Original turn signal,s show up on ebay quite often, just be patient, you can get new rears from hvccycle.
  21. There is also an adjustment screw on the horn, have you moved it? If you can't get it to work it should still be avaliable @Yamaha. I know you can still get the 6 volt horns.
  22. If you set up the pump correctly or verified adjustments including the cable slack in both the carb slide and the oil pump. You can run some premix in your gas tank @ 32:1 then remove the oil line from the cylinder and install a screw back into the hole, don't use the oil line screw as it has holes in it. Start the engine and at idle you should see oil appear and thats about it. Rev up the engine some and you should see the oil start to move. Don't expect to see alot of oil move but you will see it. If you bike is smoking it is getting oil. To be safe if you want, you can ride the bike and slowly reduce the amount of oil in the premix until you are back on straight gas in the tank. Check the spark plug to make sure you not getting lean but I doubt you will see that. Also watch you crankcase oil level to make sure your not sucking oil out into the crank.
  23. Yep, Like trying to make an enduro a YZ.
