  1. yep, im a proper biker is me Im 17 in 8 months, DT is going because i want something with longer legs and electric start.
  2. its now on adtrader aswell dtwontrun: details sent via PM, additional info and pics can be found in the for sale section
  3. did that when i was 6 with a new gokart i got for xmas, knocked over a lamp, broke a table and got a bollocking off the old lady, somehow i dont think she will let my DT sit in the dining room
  4. HAHAHA!!... thats a good one
  5. hi everyone. it hink i have a bit of a problem with carb icing, in normal weather the bike is fine, but if i leave it outside when im at work sometimes it will be harder to start and run very rich until it has warmed up, same happened today when i got it out of the garage and its quite inconveniant having to go out to the garage with a hairdryer and pre-heat the carb (usually does the trick) went into my local Motorist Discount and they advised me to pre-mix a little extra two stroke oil and use a little pot of Red-Ex to help stop the icing, i have now done it and it seems to have helped anyone else have these problems and how do i solve it permanently?
  6. i rode to school today, pulled up at the gate and was told it was clsoed so spent the next 10-20 minutes tearing around the streets, proper speedway riding then i got cold and wont home to get a cuppa' i love riding though
  7. i think its jsut that the UK has sh*t weather but never any snow. so when the snow comes they dont know what the f*ck to do!. anyone watching the new series of Ice Road Truckers?
  8. Sweet ride! want one now... Dont s'pose i could have a ride?, then maybe a go on the back of the bike? (haha, only joking...) im awful
  9. I did!. rode to school only to find it was closed, spent a few minutes playing around the streets , drifting around corners and generally having fun in the snow, but it seems my little DT doesn't like the cold and i think it had a bit of trouble with carb icing, just didnt want to go, kept stalling and was running very rich
  10. that may be the problem then, any water in the ignition would complete the circuit enabling the current to flow even with the switch in the off position. get a hairdryer and dry the ignition out as much as you can, see if that helps
  11. did you check the wiring before you installed the new ignition?, on some ignitions it will have a temporary on for the ignition and headlights and a permanent on for the radio and other electrics so they will still have power when you turn the key off (hence why the radio in my dads van keeps resetting itself every time you stop ) also check for shorts and loose connections
  12. hmm... not sure wether to laugh because its funny or because... its... just wrong...
  13. *drool* what have i told you about teasing me?!...
  14. hmm, i may leave it until i come back from ireland then. dont forget, going back to perth i will be doing about 30-40mph tops, you would likely get bored, lol
  15. hi everyone. whats the best way to sell my DT50?, i dont want to try ebay because they have all these buy it now fees, final value fees, reserve fees, starting price fees e.t.c and there is no guarantee i will get a good price for it and i dont want to sell it for £150 and then be left with no transport and not enough money for another bike. Ad Trader charges £6 per ad and has a 40 word limit, so that is pretty much ruled out of the equation. is there any cheap advertising media that is well-known and gets a lot of views that i could post my ad on? ive posted an add in the for sale section and on some small free advertising websites but i doubt i will get any response. any ideas? - Steve
  16. hmm, can't be the fuel intake as i dont imagine it would flow directly into the carb bowl as that would defeat the whole purpose of the floats. are you sure it isnt a drain?, perhaps the brass tube had broken off/was removed. im all out of ideas

    More Ink

    yup, i voted 10
  18. i posted an ad in the for sale section and elsewere on the 'net, so will wait and see what response(s) if any i get.
  19. they are at the lowest point externally, but inside they are connected to a brass tube which sticks up from the bottom of the carb bowl so in the event of an overflow the fuel level will have to rise above the height of the brass tube before it can flow down it and out the overflow pipe.
  20. top speed is 40mph and is calibrated on my GPS, but i will probably be averaging 30 was thinking of doing it in my summer holidays (13th feb - 21st feb), may have to find a travelinn to stay in overnight though, lol
  21. Hi everyone. just wondering, is anyone else on the organ donors register?, i signed up through the DVLA when i got my licence, figured since i was on a moped ive got more of a chance of being spread across the tarmac so why not do some good after im gone food for thought... - Steve
  22. a blocked vent hole will rpevent the air entering the tank, make sure you get it good and clear using a nail, pin or other small object, give it a blow with an airline if you have one
  23. i reckon im gonna need something with longer legs... would be an interesting thing to do though...
  24. would being a classic affect the price at all?. last time i took it to probike they started laughing , plus there arent any nice 50cc bikes in there that i can afford, the only Enduro they had in there last time was a reiju SMX50 which was £1,599
