best advice is make it as inconspicuous as possible, park it in a corner of the garden or as near to the building as you can and get a cover for it, a good lock is a must and preferably some sort of alarm or dummy CCTV camera
  5. definately sounds like a slipping clutch, on the DT and the XJs there is a little bolt to adjust the clutch where the cable goes into the crankcase aswell as one on the handlebars

definately want one... thought about getting one just for pimpin'... got a spare XJ600 engine so im already half way there, sequential gearbox, pod filters, 4-2 exhaust system with upswept tips, HID headlight conversion and maybe a front spoiler... may have a look on eBay for a lawnmower i think...

all of the above can be added to my list really, just depends who is out on the road when i'm about, people who try to stop me filtering will incur my wrath and loose a wingmirror, thats just how i work...
  8. Dip in revs when changing into gear could be an indicator of a dragging clutch, adjust your clutch so that it disengages with less pull on the lever and see if that helps, it would also make changing into neutral when in gear at a standstill harder

see above post, an intro is essential if you are looking for positive responses, your problem appears to be a valve not seating or incorrect float seating, a good clean and blow through of the jets with compressed air would probable solve the non-seating valve issue but a good clean is well reccomended, from what i remember from a rpevious posts the carbs on this model may have plastic float bowl tangs which will not allow you to modify their height. remove the float bowl and let us know what the condition is in the float bowl, otherwise th evalve and seat may be pitted or corroded

Hey peeps, just wanted to show off... Future Mrs Foamy now has all her bike gear and has taken a liking to my old XJ, which means i am no longer riding through this world alone, will be going on our first couples holiday to Bournemouth on the bike on the June bank holiday, any know of any good biking roads to check out on the way? or places i can park on the seafront? Dont think the XJ will be going any time soon, too many good memories... Damn biker chicks are hot...

mainly BMW/Audi/Merc drivers, the ones with the "i have a brand new really expensive car which means everyone else around me is inferior, you will bow down to me", other than that its mums on the school run, i found that most lorry drivers and to an extent bus drivers are amongst the most curtious

Hey peeps. Sorry to create yet another T-shirt thread, there's already a load of them but it seems that they have been buried/forgotten. T-shirts are now available... sort of, its Pauls design (tuning forks, YOC e.t.c) but i went through Vistaprint and ordered myself one, but since i have all the templates drawn up already i thought why not offer them out? Currently they are available in white, grey or black with blue text, if you would like a different colour text let me know as it wont be too hard to sort out but may be a tad more expensive if its a one-off Prices so far: (shipped to your door, including paypal charges) White shirt, no name or slogan on back - £10.55 Grey shirt, no name or slogan - £12.95 Black shirt, no name or slogan - £15.35 if it's a bulk order then the prices will drop, i can also change slogans or add text to the front for special events, such as the squires meet e.t.c, If you are overseas the shipping is slightly higher but only by about £3 for name and slogan add £2.39 to your order, and if you want a 2xl its an extra £1.20. and yes im aware the web address is incorrect, the screenshots were taken before i finalised the design, i uploaded them whilst under the influence of 5 pints of guiness, give me a break eh?
