oh BTW the heating and spraying with C02 trick doesn't work very well, i read up about it on wikipedia and t'internets when i was considering pulling all the dents out of my tank. there was a theory behind it... but i can't remember what it was now

i would go with filling it and then going over the whole thing with a bit of wet&dry. i have a similar dent on my DT50 but its horizontal and quite a bit deeper, i left it in there though... dents add character

Sprinters are good, my ol' man had a 312 and it went like shit off a very shiny shovel. sold that because the payload was too small, now has a Volkswagen LT46, most of the bodypanels are the same as the sprinter but its a twin-wheeler and has a larger engine. we should go back to simpler times... i still got my "little red wagon" in the garage

if its got an inline fuse then i'm thinking along the lines of an accessory/12v output, maybe for heated grips?

do you have the MOT previous to the most recent MOT?, if there is a significant difference between the two then it may be a case of incorrect recordings taken by the MOT tester

mileage is recorded on the clocks themselves, it's possible that the clock unit has been switched for one from a lower mileaged bike. my dad bought a Jog RR for my brother to learn on not long back with the handlebars and clocks smashed up from where some muppet tried to nick it, ended up buying a set of clocks from a similar year Jog R which showed the mileage as less

some people deserve to be branded as "special" and refused access to any motor vehicle... still, always nice to get your own back isnt it. should have gone up beside him at a set of traffic lights and said "Sir, could you step out of the vehicle for a minute?", see what pathetic excuse he has and watch the bugger squirm

not familiar with your specific bike mate, measure the outside diameter of the carb inlet and buy a filter in the size (my DT50 uses a 28mm cone filter)
  21. wild foamy replied to metal hed11's post in a topic in Classics
cone filters are an option, they usually come with their own hose clamp already on the rubber so all you do is tighten it around the carb inlet. the cone filters allow more air to get to the enigne than the standard airboxes do, therefore you need to up the fuel flow to compensate. you would possibly need to re-jet your carb, which is a fairly simple procedure.

could be bent selector forks or even a knackered return spring if the lever isnt returning to its centre, take the side case off and have a look.

  25. ive never had the experiance with a copy bike, but dont expect the same build quality as you would with a high-market jap bike. if its just to throw around the fields then can't see any problem, a good source of spares is essential for any bike so check to see if you can get spare parts in the UK
