Not exactly sure Paul. Personally i was going to see the kids off and go getting to Thrapston for around 9.15 depending on traffic. Looks like around 2 to 2 1/2 hours for us to ride the distance. Need at least 1 fuel stop enroute, where were meeting finerez i believe. Best i can say is between 12 and 1 until were on the road.

Eww. That 150 has a chopped up frame too. My missus would kill me if i did that.
  3. So you wont be having a long pull on a fag afterwards then...

Look on the bright side, its better than a Z250.........um!

So your expecting someone who has carted said camping gear a fuck sight further (like 4 or 5 times as far, for some more ) than you have on bikes harder to load kit onto than the rd to scuff up and make room. Its a no from me.

The battery acts as a store of energy. The bike generates its electricity much the same as a car does. The battery fills the gaps in. When you change gear, stop start traffic riding at night. These are times when the engine cannot make sufficient electrical energy efficiently. You have to remember that bikes don't have massive charging systems as they cost horsepower. 125's don't have anything to spare. Would you give up 20% of your power for brighter indicators, and carry another 5kg of battery and the associated cosmetic implications? didn't think so. Because of that the bike relies on the battery more than a car does, without the battery the lights and such will act as you say, but! without the battery to stabilise the electrical system there will also be voltage spikes when you have that red mist moment at 10000rm and you electrical system will cop for 15v and then you blow bulbs.

Check the battery./Main fuse./Electrolite level. Its got to be really shagged to do nothing.
  8. Not being in the position of being able to throw thousands at a new bike i would be looking at buying a donor and making a good one from the pair. Maybe customise a little too. Will certainly cost less if you know how to work a spanner.

Should check your socks more often.....

You mean it would be less miserable than riding a hardtail springer at any other time? I doubt it will see rain, even high humidity, even distant low pressure with the paint and chrome work will keep it safely under cover.. It will be more work of art than bike.

Don't worry the bike is not restricted and doesn't need to be either, it pre dates restriction. So long as the bike is stock your fine. Off the top of my head I think the 125/175 are 13 and 16hp respectively although the 125 is regarded as a little perkier as it revs better although you do need to get it spinning to get the best from it, make sure you use premium fuel though unless you want to be changing pistons.

Simple law, it is illegal for a spedo to under read, not to over read. Also remember the difference between tyres both new and old and different manufacturers. It still cannot read low. 10% covers it.

100mph YBR? You will spend a fortune and get nowhere near. Its a 125 at the end of the day. The old school 125 could just, and that was just catch 100mph. That's with a hell of a lot more power than a YBR, something like 30hp is needed for the ton, and that's with aerodynamics in your favour too. Buy a bigger bike, the days of worthwhile 125 tuning are looooong gone.

Repeating the question in another forum wont help just confuse people.. Thread locked.

That o ring fits on the crank under the distance piece behind the primary gear. Easy to miss/forget and easy to break. Will likely smoke like the qe2 if you left it out.

Same kind of distance for me too. Thats at least 3 tanks of fuel. And i dont care what you say your seat is far better than mine. Damn thing is heated by them bloody exhausts.
  19. Cynic replied to Robin B's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
Blocked idle jet. Weak spark. Stuck choke. Bad battery. Bad float height. Carbon build up. Air leaks. Exhaust leaks. Could be a few or all of the above. The 2str light and the neutral light say nothing but a bad battery. More detail needed. Plugs changed when? Checked the filter, plug caps?

Is it not worth a performance ig unit with all the other work done? Seems a pretty common failure, the fact you have 2 spares speaks volumes. I have to agree, with the carbs deemed as spot on then ig would give the black plugs firing way too early or late giving a bad sooty burn. Or even worse some firing early others late.
  21. A lot of bikes do it. It prob means the mixture may be a little lean at idle (due to a pipe maybe, filters?). Once its running its fine just a little too lean to fire. Is it better on a smoking hot day? My TDR does it unless the weather is really warm. I certainly wouldn't worry. Check the plugs if it is bothering you. Colour of a nice smooth white coffee is what you want to see.

I know Z rated tyres cannot be repaired, not sure on V rated. I know its possible have repaired tyres but I'm not keen on it myself. Although my bikes run tubes so its only a tenner for me. I would prob repair a rear tyre. Can't say I would even consider repairing a front. The tyre does have to come off to be done properly. I have only seen truck tyres done with the mushrooms and they take the tyre off to do it as the plug is pulled through from the inside.

Seriously. Forums are at heart a collection of mates talking bikes and taking the p. A much used comparison is a group of mates in the pub. If you asked the same question there straight out without even a hi. What would happen. The yoc is a VERY active forum with many members and few real rules. One big sensitivity of the masses though is first post questions. Glad you sorted it.
  24. So if the advice was to drop it 6feet would you do that. Have you checked ANYTHING. Could just be a dirty filter. No intro either......

Is there something actually wrong with the brake. You do know there not stunning at the best of times. The one on my tdr is pathetic.
