Does anyone know why my sr125 backfires through the exhaust when coming off full throttle and slowing down?

It doesn't happen all the time but is rather annoying when it does.

I have tried cleaning the carb but this did not help.

The bike also stalls sometimes when it's hot and stood at traffic lights and junctions.

A common cause of backfires is a leaking exhaust system (blown gaskets, joints,,etc.)

A for not running nicely when hot, when were your valve clearances last checked ?

The exhaust is only approx 6 months old a new copper gasket was fitted when I fitted the exhaust.

And as for the valve clerances I checked and adjusted those only a couple of months ago this is partly why it's driving me mad and I have run out of ideas, maby it's a trip to the dealer next!

Thanks for your help.
