I purchased a 1981 seca 750 that is mint with only 3,200 miles runs and looks great the problem with it is the rear wheel is bent, like about a 1/4 inch of run out. it has no visable damage to it, its just bent, the beads are true to each other, so I figure go to the cycle wrecker, well I did and they have 6 of the spiral wheels, all are the same as far as being bent with only one showing damage, so I check out some seca turbo wheels there all straight but the splines are smaller, and the hub pattern is differnt so I can not swap the splines, are the spiral wheels defective or weak, any Ideas as to what to do, Thanks flash Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Robbie Posted January 16, 2006 Share Posted January 16, 2006 Hi guys, I know absolutely nothing about the quality of the wheels that go on your machine , but you mentioned a damaged wheel. If the damage is only superficial (curbed) then this can quite easily be refurbished by a specialist company. I work for such a company and have had experience of refurbing motorcycle wheels, but I dont know of any companies other than in the Southampton and SW london area. Just a thought anyway. I would only advise repairing a wheel if there is light curbing on it though, as you cannot see if the wheels are cracked or have metal fatigue.
