Hello all Iam new here and hope to pick a few brains!!! I purchased a 1981 seca 750 that is mint with only 3,200 miles runs and looks great the problem with it is the rear wheel is bent, like about a 1/4 inch of run out. it has no visable damage to it, its just bent, the beads are true to each other, so I figure go to the cycle wrecker, well I did and they have 6 of the spiral wheels, all are the same as far as being bent with only one showing damage, so I check out some seca turbo wheels there all straight but the splines are smaller, and the hub pattern is differnt so I can not swap the splines, are the spiral wheels defective or weak, any Ideas as to what to do, Thanks flash

Hi guys,

I know absolutely nothing about the quality of the wheels that go on your machine  , but you mentioned a damaged wheel. If the damage is only superficial (curbed) then this can quite easily be refurbished by a specialist company. I work for such a company and have had experience of refurbing motorcycle wheels, but I dont know of any companies other than in the Southampton and SW london area.

Just a thought anyway.

I would only advise repairing a wheel if there is light curbing on it though, as you cannot see if the wheels are cracked or have metal fatigue.

Regards

Robbie
