hey guys

i need some opinions on whether this will work or not because i think i might have had a bit of a brainwave!!!

my ty (very very very rotten) like most bikes depends on using the frame of the bike for an earth and it is a good way of doing it

BUT in my bikes case, the last idiot who owned my bike (whom was VERY good at taking things apart but not so hot at putting back together) left my bikes loom dangling and left the exposed points where the components earthed to rot and and im now getting no end of grounding issues with the bike, with continuity through the frame being a bit of an skill to find on it,

now heres my clever idea:

bearing in mind my bike only needs a killswitch and a spark it means there is not a lot of wiring to the bike which makes this a lot less effort to do.....

the tys cylinder head isnt deep in and you can actually take the sparkplug out with a spanner which means that for the most part where this plan would fall down on its face isnt a problem, Im thinking it might be possible to use some heavy guage 25 amp earthing wire to create an earth INDEPENDANT of the frame relying on crimp pins at the end of each lengh to join the components that atatch to the earth together and earthing the sparkplug by soldering a wire to a washer that goes onto the sparkplug that is then screwed into the engine.

has anyone ever had a go at doing something similair to this before and had any luck? or will my half baked plan not work?

sorry to bring crazy ramblings if this plan has got simple flaws in stuff im not familiar with ive been lucky with wiring on bikes up until now

Create a seperate earth from the negative on the battery to a mounting bolt on the engine and feed it so it passes past anything you need earthing. Then just feed off of it where you need an earth.
