hey guys,

As part of a long stretch of problem solving I'm gonna remove, dismantle and clean the carb. I've got a haynes manual, but this is the first time I've ever done this so I was wondering if anyone had any particular advice?

cheers!

don't force anything

don't poke anything

clean outside first

peeps have boiled in lemonjuce/water combo and it came out good (google it)

I recommend ultrasonic cleaning, saved a lot of hassle

my last carb was vapour blasted and looks the business

get a rebuild kit with all the jets first and check sizes against the manual

use compressed air to clean through and also carb cleaner's got its use there

drewps

I stripped al the parts of my DT250 and put them with out any rubber bits in a pan with lemon juice (that jiff stuff you get at the supermarket) simmer for 5 mins and drain!

Came out a treat, with dull finish but polished up great. When cool blasted out all the holes with a small can of compressed air.
