xj600dave Posted December 4, 2008 Share Posted December 4, 2008 hello there iv recently purchased a xj600n and I'm going to change the oil. Iv already brought an oil filter and sump plug. I'm new to the biking world. What is the best cheapish oil to use it hasn't done massively high mileage. Is there any difference between bike engine oil and car engine oil???? The difference between Car & Bike oil, is usually in the formulation......meaning that Bike oil is safe for wet clutches which most bikes have. To contradict this, I've used Castrol 20/50 GTX in the past, in my bikes & never had an issue. 10/40 will work......but 20/50 will work Better.
