  1. Hi guys, im looking for some advice, i have recently purchased a 51 plated aerox 50cc for £40 yes £40! it needs a few bits doing to it but for £40 i took the challenge. The first thing that was wrong was no power, its been stood for 5 years and is a bit rusty etc, so threw a new battery at it, still nothing, its the lcd temp gauge model and there is nothing showing, so tried kick starting, still nothing, even after cleaning fuel tank out, fresh fuel etc.got frustrated so took carb apart and there was white crystals in the carb float bowl, tried taking main jet out but in the process it snapped the main jet sleeve. after searching on ebay i found an engine, carb with airbox, loom and forks (as mine were pitted). HOWEVER on assesing all the parts, the carb on the ebay swag has (what i understand to be) electronic choke, the one on the oringinal carb didnt (cable type). So my question is this, if i fit the new loom, engine and carb, will the clocks eventually work? im just wondering if anyone on here is experienced with the type of things. i did an engine swap on my honda x8r no probs, just easy as anything, but this has swayed me a little. Thankyou all in advance, if you require my email please pm me.
  2. Hi everyone, this is my first post and I need some help with my TZR 50, it has a polini 80cc bore kit, technigas expansion chamber, bored out reed block with polini carbon reeds, high spec inlet manifold, 21mm TNT carb with a polini sponge air filter. I've only just put the carb on, previously was the standard 16mm, it went fine but I always knew it could do more as the powerband was tiny and right at the top of the rev range, now with the bigger carb the powerband is much bigger (and a bit more powerfull) but a lot lower down the rev range and it starts to run out of puff at about 9250rpm whereas before it could pull to 10250, if anyone could sugest anything I would appreciate it alot, thanks! : )
  3. Anyone know of a reference for the HSC32 carb. I have a 1981 Maxim XJ650. I'm rebuilding the carbs and ran into a little (I hope) problem. I left the carb block sit in the carb cleaner and all the rubber seals at the end of the throttle rods and in where the return springs are has rotted away. I hadn't planned on taking these apart - so much for that. I have the Yamaha factory manual (paid $82 bucks for it) and would have though it would have been more thorough (it's just slightly better than a Haynes). I'm replacing all the jets, cleaned up a bunch of stuff, replacing all the screws, etc. It's cleaned up pretty good but now I have to replace all the rubber. Any pointers or help is appreciated! Thanks, Mike T.
