  1. is plug in number one wet or dry? if dry you have no fuel, if wet then no spark or no compression, sounds to me you have no compression, take out plug and do a compression check,,
  2. yam wont replace bike ,,, they legally have to repair it for you, if after five repairs the fault is not rectified then you have legal rights ., you have to let them repair it,, give it 1000 or so miles and see, if it gets worse then seek advice from your local dealer again, yam is great company and in my years i have never been left high and dry by them,
  3. emulsion tube is in same area as jets, its normally about an inch long tube with tiny holes drilled into it from the sides and a small hole through the centre, if these are blocked then it will not suck up fuel like a straw,,
  4. oopps, that sounds like the mechanical seal for the oil/water pump. not good, must be under wty though??

  6. hi mate, try call b&c express, they have tons of sprox, and have made sprox specially for me on the race bikes i have prepped.
  7. im sure you already know this but code 51 is relating to the imobiliser, the ecu is not recieving a signal from the key..do you still have the red master key? this will over ride the system.have you had the ignition barrel replaced with the arial ?
  8. ok, next thing if plugs are dry after bike dies see if any fuel in the float bowls .. undo the screws at base of bowl. if dry here then you have fuel tap fault /blockage,,does the fuel pump prime when you switch on the ignition?can you hear it at all while bike is running? if you put hand on it while bike running you should feel it pulse, sounds to me like the pilot jets or emulsion tubes are blocked not allowing fuel through at tick over and initial throttle openings, choke will by pass this,, hence it runs
  9. float heights? are the plugs wet or dry after trying to run bike?does your bike have throttle position sensor?
  10. try b & c express, they do renthal sprocket kits etc.
  11. MR LOON i live not too far\away from you, can you ride the bike? if so bring it round and lets have a look at her, i live in warlingham surey, call if you like .. jim, 07970918855.
  12. hi what exactly do you want to know?? colours of wires to the indicater warning light? if so why? is it not working?? normally the bulb, indicater wires on yams are black for earths, and brown for left side and green for right hand side.

    Side lights

your turning the ignition switch too far and putting it on park position which puts the side/parking lights on.
  14. hello mate, dont worry its a piece of cake to sort out, they are a rachet type tensioner so they just need a good push to make them click into place, they are a touch hard to get to but once you have its all good, you need to take out the bolt from tensioner , think its 17/19 mm. inside this there is a spring , take that out,,fint a allen key or something like that which is slightly narrower than the spring, make sure its long enough to go all way into tesioner with enough hanging out end to push into towards engine, you need to push pretty hard ,, enough to hear it click!. one click should be enough to quieten it down nicely, if you have probs call me .. 07970 918855,,, good luck ,,, jim.
  15. hi im pretty sure harris performance used to do them, poss places like deemon tweeks also, ?? i remember them being about 40 pounds , are you still having no joy with the flat spot?? where do you live? i will have a look at bike for you if you like, lets get it sorted!
  16. still sounds like thrust washer in clutch to me mate, in neutral there is no load on clutch from crank or gear box,do you have problems changing gears etc?
  17. side stand switch my friend.. dis connect it, get split pin and bridge it across loom side then ride the bike,, see how you go,
  18. yamahas come with dry air filters from standard, if you want to replace for a performance one then look to bmc they are the best ,
  19. what you said dont make sense,, if you pull the clutch lever in and the noise goes then its the clutch thrust washer that is worn, very common.. if it was fairings etc it wil be there all time, does it make the noise in gear? out of gear? at tick over?
  20. is it a leo vinci pipe? i fitted one of these a year or so ago to a bike and it ran shitty, would barely pull away .
  21. hi mate, did you get new variator rollers with pipe ? the rubber pipe is fresh air from air box to clean up exhaust emmisions,
  22. have a look at air mixture screws and carb balance.
  23. if it is just injectores then thats cool, if cam chain then its no real issue unless it becomes really loud, then you should get tensoiner , they are very unliely to jump teeth and knock timimg out,
  24. if you havent got means to test your plug cap and coil etc then you can try unscrewing the plug cap off the ht lead and cut 5mm off the ht lead with decent cutters, then re screw on the plug cap at least ten turns while pushing fairly hard to make sure a very good fit.. these bikes commonly have plug cap faults so you could replace this for a few quid while your there,,
  25. hi , sounds to me your suspension linkage has seized, the bearings are all dry and have become solid, this is fairly common , you need to strip the shock linkages out clean them and grease them up and re fit, the shocks also loose their rebound damping due to loss of oil.its possible the the bearings may need replacing if in bad condition.....
