  1. been out on it today after cleaning all of the injectors out and the throttle bodies and seem to be fine all the time i was riding slow. as i gave it a fist full over 9000rpm it stated again. i limp the bike back home very slowly and by it was on my drive it was running fine. there is something strange going on... HELP
  2. i have changed all of the spark plugs and all of the coil packs, i have even changed the sub loom. im running out of ideas. i have spoken to yamaha and they have told me that there is no other diagnostic check other than the one that is on the on-board clocks. i just dont know were to turn with this bike. sometimes the fault will come cylinda 4 but it is actually no1. im also sure that this is going into limp mode but this does not reset when you turn the bike of and re start. im starting to think that it is the ECU. If it is the ECU then i would have to get complete new key set and ECU which will cost an absolute fortune so i will have to scrap it. I dont even have the red key so it makes things worse. any help would be good. so far i have changed.......... TPS/Coils/sub Loom still no change. this can happen anything from 1 mile up the road to 50 miles.
  3. well i went out again and the misfire is still there. i getting ready to put this bike on the scrap heap please please can anyone help

Ive had a V&N baffle kit fitted into my standard exhaust can. i have today changed the cans back to the original one and i have managed to ride it today for 50 miles and it was ok. i have tucked it away untill the next sunny day so hopefully i might be able to test again. if it goes tits up i think i will be taking a trip to wallingham. im a bit miffed because im not sure or why a baffle kit would make the bike do that. does anyone no why this might happen???????????????????????????????????????????
  5. THIS IS A NIGHT MARE. I HAVE REPLACED ALL THE COIL PACKS AND THE SUB LOOM. I HAVE CHECKED ALL THE WIRING LOOM AND ALL SEEMS OK. CLEANED ALL THE CONECTOR BLOCKS. THIS PROBLEMS SEAMS TO KEEP HAPPENING IT SEEMS TO BE CUTTING THE FUEL SUPPLY TO NUMBER 4 AND THE ANGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON. THIS BIKE IS ALL STANDARD APPART FROM I HAVE PUT A V&N BAFFLE KIT AND NOT TAKEN OUT THE CAT. DOES ANYONE THINK THAT THIS BAPPLE KIT MIGHT BE DOING THIS????????????? CAN ANYBODY HELP????????????????????? CAN ANYONE GIVE ME SOME ADVISE??????????????????????????

  7. HI CAN SOMEONE HELP. I HAVE A 2004 YAMAHA R1. IT HAS CREATED A MISFIRE. WHEN THE BIKE IS ON THE STAND IT RUNS SWEET. IT GETS HOT AND ALL THE USUAL THINGS HAPPEN FAN CUTS IN AND EVERYTHING. I TAKE IT FOR A BLAST AND THEN IT STARTS TO MISFIRE AND THE ENGINE MANAGMENT LIGHT COMES ON. THE FAULT DOES NOT CLEAR IF I TURN BIKE OF AND RE START. THE BIKE NEEDS TO COOL DOWN AND THEN STARTS AND RIDES FINE. THEN IT WILL START TO MISFIRE AGAIN AND THE MANAGMENT LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN. I GO THROUGH THE DIAG PROGRAM ON THE CLOCKS AND THIS KEEPS RAISING DIFFERENT FAULTS I CLEAR THEM AND GO FOR A RIDE AND IT BRINGS UP MORE FAULTS. I HAVE SPOKEN TO YAMAHA AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THE RECALL FOR THE TPS HAS BEEN DONE, IT WAS CARRIED OUT LAST YEAR. CAN ANYONE HELP ME AS IM GETTING TO THE END AND DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO TRY.
