  1. first off you can,t just ride trails you have to road legal ,you do have a license . secondly both bikes are wrong for you ,they are out and out race bikes high maintenance/running costs. third point join a local club they can steer you in right direction, bikes for sale ,somewhere to ride. bit negative i know, but what can you do you live britain.
  2. bloody hell i thought you,d seized the engine.this is a simple fix, any good mechanic/engineering shop should be able to heli-coil the barrel for you.
  3. send it here first if they can,t fix it then buy new. LANGCOURT 1 OLDMIXON CRESCENT WESTON-S-MARE NORTH SOMERSET BS24 9AX TEL 01934 612226 http://www.langcourt.com/
  4. my 2000wr came with 140/80.18 rear, same front as yours. i,m running 140/80.18 on my yz/wr250. cant help with dealers.
  5. you need to establish if it coming from a overflow pipe or crankcase or waterpump cover. if its pipe its overflow theres no exspansion tank on yzf, these do run very hot don,t leave it ticking over too long. if its either cover or crankcase it needs further investigation. what colour is fluid???????
  6. its come back as 99 wr400 does it look like this one ,obviuos large tank emission pipes around carb. or this a 2000 wr 400 smaller tank. hope this helps.
  7. it should be 18inch ,you have,nt been sold yzf400 with lights???. post frame number see if we can find out what you have.
  8. clean and oil filter ,make sure you can turn the engine over by hand in case its a partial seizure .fresh fuel mixed at 50:1 thats 100ml to 5 litres of petrol.new plug and away you go hopefully . good luck.
  9. there must be relays/fuses to check or have you done this already. did,nt see this in workshop .
  10. try these may be exspensive .the white backgrounds you can buy sheets and cut yourself. http://www.danger-uk.co.uk/
  11. i had a 2000 wr 400 for a couple of years ,had no trouble starting it.take it just over tdc good kick and fired up nicely.they do need to be kept well serviced oil/filters(air +oil)and the odd plug. the red knob/button is the hot start only use when hot. the 99 model was,nt the best ,2000 was vast improvement that does,nt help you mind. there is a fix for manual de-comp and thats to fit later camshaft theres an article on thumpertalk .
