  1. Ah! Was trying to forget that job, but hopefully will not happen too often! Still it was good practice for dismantling the entire fairing!
  2. Merry Christmas too, hope it will be warm enough for a ride or two!
  3. I had not ridden for 10 years, and never on a sports bike when I got my Thundercat. I felt comfortable from the very first ride, and have covered 6000 miles in 5 months, in all weathers with no problems. Easy to ride, work on and commute. All round an excellent choice IMO Good luck
  4. Because i got my FS1E in 1976, and followed that with an RD250 (blue, coffin tank!) and then an XS750 US Custom. Then had a break (got married!) and returned to bikes about 10 years ago with a 1967 XLCH Harley. When I sold that, I wanted to get back to a more modern bike, and nothing but Yamaha crossed my mind Have now got a 97 Thundercat and it does everything I need in all weathers perfectly
  5. I changed my headlight for a UK spec recently, and put a 50% improvement bulb in from Halfords (can't remember exact name!) It has made it a lot better, and on high beam, I can see well at night and in poor light

    Shoei Helmets

Well I got the XR1000, and cannot believe how quiet and comfortable it is! (got whisper kit as well) Thanks to everyone for their advice, priceless as always!

Thanks again Picked up my XR1000 today, with whisper kit (makes it a bit tight to get on!) Will try out tomorrow and let you know how it is Cheers

    Shoei Helmets

Thanks mate, it looks like the XR1000 is the one to go for, depending on fit! There was no link on your post, but my friendly Yam dealer is selling plain colours for £199, just hope he has whisper kits! Cheers again for your advice.

    Shoei Helmets

Hi all I am thinking of upgrading me helmet from my AGV Stealth to a Shoei X Spirit or 1000. The main reason is I want a quieter helmet (I wear plugs anyway) and for comfort, as I ride about 300 miles a week, all year round. Has anyone got any experience of these helmets, as the reviews I have read seem to suggest that the 1000 is quieter than the the X Spirit? Thanks for any advice!
