  1. Your right about the short life. 1500 miles is way to short. Unless the gap was wrong in the first place, that could have caused premature failure. I change mine every 6000 miles or so. Check them once a month, around the 1500 mile mark on my kwakas. My Yam..shes good on plugs and easier to remove and check. My Yam book says every 4000 miles till check time.... well that works out in summer at once every week and a half (bike courier).......but ive left them till 10000 miles and shes good, changed them with the oil and filters and tyres LOL Of course it depends what kind of riding you do, short blips here and there without getting your motor warm will damage plugs, as will idling for a long time then giving it a fist full. Yeah the price of plugs sucks, I bought a box, from a dealer who was selling up, I paid around 10p a plug, Ive enough left to run for another year.
  2. Glad all is well there matey. Short life on those plugs tho. Ur machine will be breathing a sigh of relief that it can have a big fat spark and burn that fuel more efficiently. Good luck with the filter tho.
  3. LOL Goff, thats what must have broke my fork leg bottom, BIG crack across the axle studs......New forks came today from Scotland, fitted and rebuilt in under an hour, just had time to go and test before it went dark. ( I dont mind the dark, but when your testing important stuff like forks, you wana be able to see them!!!!)
  4. Two of us played out all day... Went up into Yorkshire, played on the twisties, jumped a few humps, had a butty and brew at Devils bridge, then headed towards home, didnt get there, went to another mates picked him up, then picked up another pillion(mates gfriend) and headed for Big Ds for a light beverage. Then headed for home. Total miles 348. All dry!!!!! Woohoo Weather Click the above and check out the weather near you!!! LOL
  5. Oh man, after reading a couple of your latest posts, I thought you had grown up Peabody, I guess I was wrong. Lets just get back to whats important. We ride machines......
  6. NO hosepipes matey, you`ll damage the grease/oil seals. Wash and wax a good investment, sponge for the bodywork, sponge for the wheels, A good rinse, followed by a silicon wax, I use purple helmet polish on my fairings, shiny they are, Motrax have brought out a similair product. While your using sponges etc, you can get close to your bike, which in turn means you will see any issues that may pop up, paint chips to sort, etc.... Have fun...
  7. Mate of mine rang me earlier today, he was on his way to Blackpool and knocked over a pig, killed it dead. He asked me, "What do I do with it?" I said , if your sure its dead, throw it in the ditch "Ok" he said, "what do I do with the camera he was holding? "
  8. Ok so I havnt a custom jobby, but Goffs right, loud pipes save lives. I told that to the plod who pulled me yesterday in Chorley.... He didnt wear it ( He nearly wore my helmet tho, the wrong way) Anyhoo.. Im a little lighter of cash( yes he did tell me to change it, and gave me a nice ticket, noobhead, and a telling off... I bought an end can from a local breakers and rode past said plod wavving it in the air, revving the bollocks off my Yellow monster with a straight through end can.... He just shook his head.... Cant do me for it twice!!!!!! So my newish stamped can is gona get a tweak, ie remove some of that crap inside andmaybe shorten it a little, cos it looks like it should be on a Mack truck!! Yes loud pipes save lives, Coppers dont think so......
  9. As with all newer engines, they are made of lighter materials, and sound hollower, the ticking could be the fact that its starting to wear in, my 03 Yam 900 started making the same sound, checked everything out, cam chain adjuster etc.. ( at 55000 miles ) Its worth just bobbing in to your MOT place and getting a mechanic to listen, if you know them well they`ll do that for nothing. Let us know how you get on.
  10. Yup was great to put a face to the posts!!!. My mate was a little scared I cant think why? Ill ask him when I see him again. As for my bus, shes a little bright, more so when shes clean. As for your machine, shes even better in the metal. Nice you got to go and meet up with others despite the rain, I had sleet on my way through Manchester, nice... lol Oh quickie for you...Red = Positive+ Black= Negative - Sorry couldnt resist. Lol Ps wish my. .a.ahem. .hair was like yours. Groovy rockin colours.
  11. All people are laughing at matey, is your ignorance to your own safety. Blödes Arschloch Always faithfull.... You.....Whatever....Again your foul language surpasses it-self and falls at the feet of irony.
  12. Ill pop this in my diary. Be a nice run down, maybe get a contingent of peeps from my area to join me. keep us posted. Paul
  13. Well that shows what a prat you really are......... Do you know what raw meat looks like? You come off and so would all your skin. Good luck!!!! As I said before in another thread.....just a keyboard warrior..... Get back in your and keep your in.
  14. Mates fine thanks, hes recovering, been coming out with me on his older YZF, while working, playing, lol. He spent the last 4 months in Afghan. He needs to play and do something less serious to try and forget about the things hes seen. otherwise he`ll go
  15. This would be the same Corps that blew one of my mates up, friendly fire, last year and nearly killed my long time school mate who had to call off an American attack because they where bombing 30 miles away from the area they should have been just a month ago? (thankfully hes home now) Please refrain from swearing on the forum, it really isnt necessary, ive found that people who struggle to get the message across swear more. As for this topic, its getting rather boring. . time to talk about something that really matters.
  16. For your information I use Avon Storm Sts on my XJ900, Im a bike courier, putting around 4000, (summer time more) miles a week on the tarmac..... you want to see the list of deliveries...? Just because I live on an Island, dosnt mean I cant rack up the miles. Your just a repeatative keyboard warrior with nothing else to do than insult people. Get a bike and ride it mate. And when you have rebuilt your engine 4 times this year because your doing my kind of miles, then come and chat.....till then, find a nice stretch of tarmac and ride it.....
  17. Live to Ride, that's big talk for a guy that uses an American phrase for your username. Not to mention that your the ones who are always trying to put down the U.S. first. I guess being on a small, cold island has made you bitter. The whining and moaning has been coming from your side of the pond ever since we threw your ancestors out of ours. Keep whining. It's 85 deg. F. outside and sunny. I'm going to go ride my bike. Again. BIG Talk..... whatever mate.... There is a typical American, claiming they own everything. For your information I call myself that because I live to ride my bike.....NOT just talk about it....unlike you who because you have a very boring and unimaginative mind( and life come to think of it) have to come on a forum and have a go at peoples heritage. I myself am part West Indian with my background coming from Portugal. I have covered over 200,000 miles in 2 years on my bikes, i ride come rain come snow and if anyone is BITTER, that would be you. I am off to Live my Life, not talk about it. . . . .
  18. your over that Unfortunatly hes unable to listen, because all he can hear is his own moaning and whinging.
  19. Hi there, to the site! You`ll find somone near you thats playing out. Enjoy your new machine.
  20. Time for big nudge..... Okay, for those searching for places.....Big Ds Biker Cafe/Bar is on the A646, a mile out of Todmorden centre, on the left. Rivvy Barn is Off the A673, Lever park Avenue then Rivington Lane out off Horwich centre. Or from Chorley, B6228 (Eaves Lane), take a left at the little roundabout at Cowling brow, follow through Limbrick, along Long lane (Be aware there is a sharp left at the end of this road!) follow round to the right( New road), 1st left turn onto Horrobin Lane. You go accross a Resovoir here. Follow round to the right. Weekends is top barn, weekdays bottom barn. Look for the bikes!!!! Well Guys and Gals. Il be at Rivvy Top Barn on Sunday Morning (13 4 08) around 10.00, we can then discuss where and when over a cup of something hot. Weather probably be sunshine and showers. Look out for the yellow object below, ill be near it. Okay okay its not a Yamaha, but its mine!! Cu there maybe. If anybody is heading that way from Rossendale, Blackburn, Accrington etc.. Drop me a PM and we can arrange to meet locally and ride down. Or if your struggling on knowing where Rivvy is PM me and ill try and help.
