    Puncture

Took the R1 out for a blast other day and thought handling seamed a bit slow and sluggish, put it down to the cold weather so tyres coldish, got home and pushed bike into the garage and it felt a bit heavy! Checked rear tyre only 15 pound pressure checked it out and small nail sticking out so new tyre on way Square Box
  2. Feck me that is one quick lap looks fun imagine that on the R1 Square box
  3. How did the day go? was gonna nip up as I have seen some Yamaha leathers advertised on ebay from Lens but got a feckin puncture on Thurday so needed to get it replaced Square Box PS Started raining down south around lunch time as well
  4. Hi R1racer welcome from another R1 owner from Hertfordshire, some good threads around the site enjoy. Cheers Square Box
  5. Nasty thing lock ups glad your ok, Now i know you have said SW16 but I guess the bike will need to be put in a Van or trailer to get to a shop ? My mate runs a fantastic little independent workshop and is a real old style mechanic very particular and very good prices, he services loads of bikes and there are allways engines in bits around his workshop, he is honest and would give you a straight answer. He services my bikes and many of my mates too. BUT the workshop is in Stevenage Herts just off the A1 it's called Raceway Motorcycles and phone number is 01438365738 speak to Steve Web site http://www.ringjunkies.co.uk/ Square Box.
  6. When you stop at traffic lights or a junction if the wind is blowing from left to your right put your RIGHT foot down and vice versa as it's easy to get blown over especially if you can't get both feet down (vertically challanged) Good luck Square Box.
  7. The dog's mate tidy looking Yam. Square Box
  8. Hi Mate I know thse guys are in Essex (millions of miles from you) but a great site for selecting tyres that you would like they have bucket loads of knowledge and some fittment charts you could give them a call and get some advice? http://www.motorcycletyresuk.com/index2.htm Cheers Square Box.
  9. Hi garysb, I had a set of Michelin Pilot Road 2 CT's on my Honda SP2 and they did 4,000mls and still had loads of life left in them but sold the bike. They are hard in the centre and softish rubber on the sides, ran them over last winter and they were great in the wet and gave good confidence in the cold. They do cost a little more than say the Dunlops or Metzelers but I think they are well worth the money. I run the Pilot Power 2CT on the R1 lasted around 3000mls so far and prob got another 1000mls left in them! Cheers SB.
  10. PS Bandit146 meant to say just pop down to your local Yam dealer and test ride them both back to back, the dealers will be very helpful in todays climate but phone them first and show your really interested good luck. Square Box.
  11. Two of my mates have the mentiond bikes, one has the TDM other the Fazer unfaired. The TDM looks higher and more upright with a trail look where as the Fazer looks more agressive and sporty, the mate with the TDM is on his second one and really rates them, I see a few TDM's on my commute so they must be reliable, you tend to see mostly the fazer 600 on commute. Have you checked out the insurance and servicing cost of both as this could be quite different? Cheers Square Box.
