  1. It'lk give some poor twitchy parent second thoughts though when you sell it. Keeping it standard is cheap and you've less headaches as well. I think, like you say, give it a while first and if you still like it in summer then start to tinker with it. There's more hours of daylight as well for repairs.!
  2. Spot on, feels much better as well when you've got it on the road as well
  3. I think it turned out to be a boy sheep.
  4. I am using supagrease from poundland on mine at the moment. IT's a PTFE lube and against rockoil chainlube I'd chose the poundland stuff anytime. Just remember to oil up fairly frequently and as it's cheap you never mind doing a really through job. OH yesh and wipe underneath the chainguard as well I help it reduces weight a bit!

    Pointless

Helicopters are brill. I flew one and it's really hard to hover. My neighbour lost his plane. A gust of wind caught it and lifted it out of range, then it looked to come down about 3 miles away near our hospital. Gutted, but funny
  6. You should be able to get these from a pattern parts dealer. Try somewhere else like Suzuki or (ahem) a honda dealer
  7. It often just sits there. It's like there's an air block stopping it getting past the brake piston. There is a kit you can buy that bleeds brakes but go to B&Q, get some 3mm hose (or take your bleed nipple with you) and buy a couple of meters. Then put it on the nipple and put the other side in your mouth and suck while pumping the brake but don't drink it. Perserve Twisted. I think that filling the reservoir, opening the nipple, using an elastic band to keep the lever against the handlebar and 20minutes while you figure out where to put the overspill will aslo get the fluid through.

    advice sought!!

I don't think it will have done any damage but you'll soon find out if it starts leaking. You ought to check the spark plugs as well then and the other items that can be changed easily like gearbox oil and cooling system. Something like that happened to me.
  9. I guess you would expect it to be pretty cool. Could be a slug of air. That's pretty unlikely though. Mind you, stopping from a relative hard ride to total stop in just a few metres on the forecourt would have transferred a lot of heat through the jacket. This would have made your temperature rise. But it would have gone down again on a few minutes. Try a drain and refill like you say.

    bike test

I think Piaggio do a 500cc round town car thingy that is really small. the trouble geting something off a bike licence is that the only people you can seel it to are others wo haven;t got a car test either. You'd really restrict your market to sell and end up stuck with it.
  11. Are you running tap water in the coling system?
  12. It seems odd that your bike would be that sensitive to fuel, especially off the high street. Could have been something like grit into a carb running you leaner and hotter or a water pump problem.

    advice sought!!

I would be tempted with this one. I quite like the 600. Mind you I would get that front sprocket off. At least I'd feel beter about that. A few quid spent on that wold leave my conscoius clearer.
  14. Didn't they ask you where you got the safe from?

    stuck!!!

It sounds like you have a switch for your side stand. If the stan is down then it cuts the engine. If you stand is up and it cuts the engine then it's bust. Simply connecting the 2 wires together with a home made 'loom' will override it.

    RZ350K

Try this link to see that you have a 1983 YPVS. http://www.ifrance.com/rd-rz350lc/pageVIN.htm That's model code RZ 350 K from Canada.

    RZ350K

That's not a number I recognise at all. I have sent you a pm.
  18. Yeah, You've got no problems getting replacement parts but they are pretty expensive. Try something along the lines of £4 a bolt     Have another look around. Nothing worse then spending a shed load on bolts then putting them down inside right where you left the others.

    Winter gloves

I'm absolutly staggered by the choice! I went into Hein Grieke and there must have been 6 different types. In the end I came out empty. Are the thinuslate Aqua gloves still top of the range?
  20. A really good torque wrench. Sex - for a change

    night shift

I worked shifts for 7 years. I really hated the nights becasue you got cold, got the shits every morning, slept badly, ate really badly and missed out on everything. The only good thing about shifts was the pay. About 4 years ago wifey told me to get a normal job or she'd leave me and take the nipper because she could'nt put up with me being all cranky. Best thing I ever did but coping with a pay cut was bad.
  22. I think the workshop forum is the best. You don;t get any nonsense and it's always full of posts that are worth reading. If you had a how to guide then it would just become a reference library.

    125 or 250?

You stand a better chance of being able to repair a TZR than an FZR in your shed.
