    bats

Yep the bats are good but i do like the bush one. He, he.
  2. Had similar problems with ttr125's, try cleaning the air filter. May sound daft but it worked with the ttr's.
  3. The only way I got my car licence (with all the other entitlements, minibus ,7.5tonne etc) back was to provide the test pass certificate numbers & dates of tests. Because I couldn't find the copy of the m/c test cert (so couldn't supply the number) the DVLA refused to give back that licence. Despite letters from previous employers stating previous employment & providing photo copies of my licence, one of which was a government agency providing couriers for blood runs & organ transfers. The only time I've ever had to supply copies of my licence for insurance is when changing employers, so they can give me permission to drive their vehicles.
  4. I had the same problem a couple of years ago, the DVLA reckoned that I had never held a licence despite the fact that I was working driving 7.5 tonne trucks at the time. Luckily I had kept photo copies of the pass cert's, well all but one! Yep , I couldn't find the bike pass cert so I had to resit the 'NEW' tests. To add insult to injury, I got accused of being a serial test taker because I got such a high score in the theory test until I explained that I drove lorries.
  5. Check the rear of the ignition switch, if it's loose it cuts out at the most annoying of moments. Happened to me & after tightening the screws at the back of the switch no probs since.
  6. Jump at option 1 mate, I paid that (£590) 3 years ago when I had to resit my test (coz the DVLA lost my m/c licence). On swapping to a photo licence they reckoned I never held one, not even for 7.5tonne vehicles that i was driving for a living at the time (no prizes 4 guessing which pass cert copy I couldn't find).

    Hi Guys

Hi nath welcome & well done on passing. Nice to see others on fz600's.
  8. First check the valve clearances (roughly), inlet 0.10mm, outlet 0.18mm. If the problem persists get a compression test done. Another question is why was it laid up for 15 years? Could it have holed the piston?
  9. It's the drive spigot (thing with two raised bits) attached in the wheel. When it gets bent (or worse) it starts jamming in the speedo drive mechanism (the thing the cable attaches to on the wheel). replace it & it should sort the problem (had to replace mine every couple of years).
  10. Aisle, Alter You! She didn't! Oh well, what price freedom?
  11. Ya probably need a tipical Irish up bringing to know or understand what I mean.
  12. Think ya need to clean the carb or if ya have a filter fitted change it (in-line filter from tank to carb).
  13. Who gives a damn! Personally I ride bikes & drive lorries! Oh yea, i own a transit as my personal mode of something above my head in winter.
  14. Don't know about the bit in the middle of the tank but the square profile of it looks like a tank from an early dt125, I'm probably wrong but there ya go.
  15. Don't know about the bit in the middle of the tank but the square profile of it looks llike a tank from an early dt125, I'm probably wrong but there ya go.
  16. don't be put off, get the cctv bit & if you recognise them, Kin ave 'em! If it was parked in a private car park there's a good posability that you may know the people from the same building.
  17. Yee ha! Watch out Christian BASTARDS (brothers), here it comes!
  18. Hmm? My ex used to say 'call it PMS again & I'll kick the f#@k out of ya!'. But hey, what da hell!
  19. check the carrier the caliper sits on, part of it can break off when heavy breaking doing off-road work. I had this happen to 4 different dt's when i worked for a motorcycle youth project. If it is the carrier then it's gonna be expensive coz yamaha sell's the carrier & caliper as a complete unit (so make friends with your local breakers, lol).
  20. Personally I ran mine with 30psi front & 34 rear. Mind you i was carrying the (now ex) missus around at the time.
  21. Have you checked the valve clearances? A friend of mine had a similar problem & refused to believe the valves could do this, as soon as i adjusted the valves for him his bike started working properly.
  22. Funny, having had 2 of these bikes i know they were only released between 1981 & 1983. The tyre pressures on those were front 28psi rear 30psi. But that depends on the tyres fitted.
  23. if in doubt try this, wisebuyers.co.uk Under yamaha, it'll give you the market price if nothing else. To sell try MCN, gumtree or many others.
  24. if you look at 'Allbike Engineerings' website under brake discs, you can compare the specs & part number, if the same they'll fit.
